According to Pope Francis: no crime ever deserves the death penalty.

Pope Francis is a dissident of the teachings and Magisterium of the Church. His first step as Pope was to legitimize the Marxist liberation theology, a perversion of the Gospels proscribed by His Holiness John Paul II, and Pope Benedict XVI following the precedent s of repudiation of that diabolical ideology set by all the Popes since the end of the XIX century.

The position of the Church on the death penalty is also clear including the legitimization of the tyrannicide. St. Thomas Aquinas gave the most substantial argument for tyrannicide. He based his position on his arguments for just war and capital punishment. St. Thomas concluded, “He who kills a tyrant (i.e. an usurper) to free his country is praised and rewarded” (In 2 Sentences, 44.2.2).

Certainly, a Pope that gave moral support for president Obama to keep afloat the Cuban tyrants would not “praise and reward” a patriot who would ultimate the genocides of the Cuban people.

True, but giving grave scandal,i.e., refuting truths and teachings, weakens the faith of all affected. The willful rejection of Divine Truth is an occasion of sin, which must be avoided.

Well, I certainly don’t think I said that anything the Pope might say or do is okay because he can’t destroy the Church!

But the alternative to throwing the switch is bribing some other person to act as jailer, which is a dehumanizing job.

And that's why I have issues with it. I wasn't trying to make the conversation about me, I was just trying to explain the reason why I had difficulties supporting capitol punishment. I don't chastise anyone else for believing otherwise. The points I was trying to make were a) my issues aren't really with the ideal of putting an evil murderer to death, b) it was expecting someone else to do the act when I, myself, couldn't do it.

It's a personal issue and I'm definitely not trying to project it on anyone else or argue against their opposing view of the subject. It was also little confusing being called selfish for thinking the way I do when I see it as the exact opposite.

As far as the dehumanizing part, I don't know. I guess it depends on the person. I've seen interviews of people (executioners) who felt that it was their civic duty to undertake one of the hardest jobs so no one else would have to carry the burden. It makes me believe that at the least, I'm not alone in the way it bothers me.

There are a few granular subjects that I reluctantly admit to being more socially liberal about, this is one of those very few.
