Dog is kind of stringy, but not horrible.
There is zero difference between Buddhists in India horrified at all the Americans eating cows, and narcissistic Americans horrified at South Koreans eating dogs.
In both cases the bulk of the animals in question are raised as livestock.
Humans are made in the image of God.
We were given dominion over the animals and eating them is okay.
The Bible says it's OK to eat dog? Really?
Agree 100% with your post. I lived in Korea for many years, many people lovingly keep dogs as pets (and would never harm them), others are raised for food... kind of like ducks or goats in the U.S. The Bible does indeed tell us that all animals are under men’s dominion, and it is no coincidence that these Biblical truths were reflected in our laws for hundreds of years— animals were a man’s property. It is wrong for others to tell a man what he can or cannot do with his own property.
‘There is zero difference between Buddhists in India horrified at all the Americans eating cows, and narcissistic Americans horrified at South Koreans eating dogs.’
Spot on.
A cow isn’t happy to see you when you come home.
Right on the money. When I served in Korea it amazed me at how easily my fellow Americans ignored how offensive eating beef or pork was in many parts of the world, but they’d act like eating dogs were right there with late term abortions or worse. I love my dogs, but I don’t forget that they are just dogs.
No, it's not okay. Civilized people don't eat dogs unless they're starving to death. Given the high intelligence and nature of dogs towards man, it's nothing a civilized people would do unless they have nothing else.
I’ve raised both dogs and cattle but never had a steer
sit on command or point a pheasant hiding in the rice
stubble. Ever try to house train a Polled Hereford?
There is some validity in what you say but when God
granted humans dominion over other creatures I don’t
think he meant for those creatures to necessarily be
utilized for similar purposes.
If it has 4 legs and hair, it is food somewhere on this planet. For human kind, anything short of granite is food.
Exactly. Thank you.
