A painting of two black children that appears on posters for the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival has drawn comparisons to pickaninny stereotypes and other racist depictions of black people.
Festival leadership unveiled the poster Tuesday night and posted photos to Facebook the following day, where many users said they found the painting distasteful.

It’s about that absurd on college these days. Actual racism isn’t required. It’s ‘micro-aggressions.’ Which means, “Anything other than kissing my a** = racism.”

That’s right; they should have known they are required to portray black people according to the Hollywood script (all doctors, scientists, etc.).

How is this any different than some of the art that the Obamas chose for the White House? Plenty of black folks in those paintings.

The poster is art. It’s kitschy art, maybe folksy art, reminds me of the paintings I used to see in art shows in Jamaica, local artists who were not generally selling to the tourists—I have a few in my own collection.
The only way one could be offended by this poster is if one were looking to be offended, which is course is what is happening here. It is the basic emotional-abuse relationship, where no matter what one does, it is never non-racist enough, non-sexist enough, LGBT-supportive enough, whatever-the-liberal-thing-du-jour-is enough. There is only one way to handle such a “marriage” between liberals and the rest of us, and that is with a writ of divorce, because the abuse-of-the-non-liberal-supposed-racistsexisthomophobicwhatevertheliberalsdecideiswrong rest of us needs to stop. NOW, and forever.
Democrats must constantly inflame racial tension, to whip up their political base and suppress their political opponents.
Reality is irrelevant.
