Charen describes the social interactions everyone tacitly knows and understands but never openly confirms.
Looks pretty whitebread to me.
If they oppose the idea, ask what they think of the US Congress having a Black Caucus, Black Student Unions, or why so called "black churches" can do politics and election campaigning.
Only 2 percent of black children raised by their married parents are poor.
Whoa! Let that one jump out at you for a minute or two.
They may be shooting for recreating the late-nights-in-the-student-lounge vibe, but most people just want a cup of coffee and a quiet minute with the newspaper or a friend.
It’s like dealing with an ex-spouse and the cold chill that runs down your spine when you hear the words “lets talk about us”.
About what? Is their coffee any good? Are the prices too high? Time to get real and cut out the BS.
And I bet that none of these lilly white 1 percenters are willing to give up their “white priviledge to a black person.” End of conversation.
Like Eric Holder, Starbucks only wants a conversation that is based on their world view, differing opinions or facts are not allowed.
Democrats inflame racial anger, for political purposes.
Its what they have always done.
This.
Was reading an article today where some guy was decrying the long-lasting impact housing segregation policies from the early to mid 20th Century have had on creating and maintaining the seemingly-permanent Black underclass.
His big solution? Neighborhood-level “Truth and Reconciliiation Commissions” that would expose long standing and hidden racism among whites.
I’ve often wondered how Progressives intended to reach the “don’t give a sh*t” crowd who hear stuff like this and respond with rolling eyes, turning and walking away and getting on with their lives. The guy who wrote the article I read just revealed that “how”
Wow! What a “diverse” group. A total of 19 people:
14 White men - 73.6%
1 Black man - 5.3%
1 Asian Man - 5.3%
2 White women - 10.5%
1 Asian woman - 5.3%
Yeah, they are the EXACT people I want lecturing ME about race...
Does this dress make me look fat?
They’re are building a Starbucks 2 miles from me. I have no intention to patronize it for their lousy high priced burned liquid that they try to sell as coffee
When I’m shopping, I frankly don’t want any business owner or their employees to involve themselves in my life in ways that don’t involve the primary purpose of their business. So if I’m there for coffee - just give me the damn coffee. If I’m there for groceries - just give me the damn groceries.
Don’t involve me in your politics and don’t ask me if I want to give a dollar to some charity. In fact, I think the backlash that Starbucks is getting is in some degree due to others like me who are sick of this trend, generally.
How would the business like it if the lines at their registers slowed down because every paying customer was taking a minute of the cashier’s time to see if the business wanted to donate a dollar to THEIR favored charity, or whether the business wanted to consider the importance of THEIR political philosophies! In fact, if this trend continues, maybe one day I’ll organize a customer nag-in of my own just to make that point!
Sigh. That’s sad. And the very definition of insanity.
If I got one of those, I would shout, "last one to the parking lot is a rotten egg!" Then I would run out the door as fast I can.
Paying inflated prices for a grafitti-laced cup of burned s*** while being lectured about race by some pimply faced chunkette is NOT a formula for boosting sales.
Sorry, it just isn’t.
My observation is, if you are obsessed with race, you’re a Democrat.
If you don’t give two hoots about it, you’re probably a Republican or a libertarian.
