But better as Secretary of health and human services or Surgeon Generaal
General
Rand Paul turned me right of when he announced his intention in 2013 to run for the presidency
It's getting late and the brain fell asleep
Hewitt isn’t a RINO, he is pure 100% establishment Republican party first guy. GOPe yes, conservative no.
Here ya go: I copied this out of another thread. If you want to read the whole thread it starts out as [Rand Paul: Criminal etc., etc.] if you just search for “Rand Paul: Criminal” you should find the whole thread. It talks a lot about his opinions on what he thinks is criminal.
Rand Paul: I think Republicans may have over-emphasized voter fraud
Rand Paul: Republicans Need to Soften on Social Issues
Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly “eager to go to war. We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don’t always all agree on every issue” ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... “We’re going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party,” Paul said.

(Rand) Paul: GOP Needs to ‘Look Like the Rest of America’ to Win Again (again)
Rand Paul slams Cliven Bundy’s racist rant
Rand Paul: Bundy’s racist remarks are ‘offensive’
Rand Paul: I’m Open to Voting for Immigration Bill
Paul: Still hope for immigration reform this year
Rand Paul’s immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but “Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration.” ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] “Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

But you have no clue what they said.
I listened to Dr. Carson on Hugh Hewitt and I was APPALLED at his limited horizons. He might be a fabulous doctor, but he is definitely way too green to think about running for such a lofty position. He sounded positively naive about most things he was asked about. I agree that he would probably be fantastic for Surgeon General however.
and specifically what to you personally disagree with and explain in detail-— why? It sounds to me like you are a raycess.
Why? Can you articulate the reason? Or was it just rank prejudice?
Calling a poster, here, a “racist” is not a good idea; especially since you have NO basis for doing so.
You sound like someone who has less than NO idea what Rand has actually said, what his positions really are, and support him for reasons you haven’t stated, which are the antithesis of those the majority of FREEPERS disdain.
Thanks for your guidance. BTW can you show me where I said “racist’?
Oh, come on! He’s not ready for prime time because he offended homosexuals?
Your post #49 !
Carson has NEVER held, let alone ever run for ANY elected office!
He keeps making gaffes and stupid statements.
He is more of an ameture/neophyte than wee barry and look what THAT has gotten us!
And he just doesn’t know enough about much of anything at all!
I'm not disagreeing with any of that. I'm saying the first thing the author condemns is that Carson offended homosexuals.
That’s just one of m any of Ben’s pathetic, stupid statements.
He is completely unprepared to run/get in the primaries, where he’ll be eaten alive and become the butt of jokes, made the fool, and make others have to answer stupid questions about the dumb stuff he says.
I didn’t write this article, so I can’t answer WHY it began with that gaffe.
Well, if you don’t understand what I sent you, then I’m sorry for bothering you.
It doesn’t matter what I disagree with .. you like the guy so I assume you will agree with whatever he says. That’s fine. I just wanted to be sure you knew what he said.
That’s all I can do. I refuse to get into arguments over what other people say. I either like what they said or I don’t; and I give everybody else the privilege of reading or listening to tapes of speeches and deciding for themselves if they like the guy or not.
