I always thought it would be neat to reward people for voting by giving them $10 off their tax bill with proof they went to the polling booth. I wouldn’t be of interest to the rich or the poor but the middle class would pay attention.
This is the lesson the Dems have drawn from their mid-term shellackings of 2010 and 2014.
Not that they are off on the wrong track, not that they need to re-connect with the voters on issues that really matter to them.
It’s just that they aren’t getting enough of their gimmedats off the couch and out to the polls when there’s not the hoopla of a TMZ celebrity at the top of the ticket.
Forcing them to show proof of voting to get an Obamaphone or food stamps should fix the problem.
I was actually thinking the voting age should be raised to 35 and we should repeal the 19th ammendment.... but I’m not expecting a lot of support on those two items....

I teach a naturalization class every Saturday afternoon. Prepping Hispanics for the naturalization test. Every one of them are conservative. They do not like obammy.
Small step to then having to ‘document’ how you voted.

I know. I find it hard to believe that people could think that any tyranny is beyond this man. He’s going to go for broke now, in his remaining time, and Congress will act like we still actually have a working Constitution. Why should they care, they’re “exempt”, and they’re on the gravy train too.
Your “I voted” card will be a backdoor national identity card.
They don’t need to change a thing they were doing, they certainly don’t have any opposition in Congress. This is that “bi-partisanship” they’ve always wanted-the other party agreeing to everything on the left’s agenda.
In that case, why don’t they just cast my vote in their favor like they want and save some effort for everyone.
