White House defends Obamas’ two flights to ‘different airports’ in L.A.

The White House said Monday that taxpayers paid for first lady Michelle Obama and President Obama to fly on separate planes to Los Angeles on the same day last week because they were traveling to “different airports” on slightly different schedules. “They flew into different airports,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest. “It’s also my understanding that the first lady actually left to get back to Washington, D.C., before the president even arrived in California.” Mr. Obama flew to Los Angeles International airport last Thursday on Air Force One, arriving around 4 p.m. local time for an appearance on

Go back to the Nelson Mandela funeral and take a look at the photos of the Obamas with the selfie and him flirting with the blond Danish PM. Michelle Obama is LIVID. I bet she pounced on him and knocked him to the ground when they got back to the White House.

She also spent her 50th birthday in Hawaii and a couple of Valentine’s Days apart, not to mention how many days he chooses to spend away from his family on the golf course with his high school buddies. How many happily married couples do that? Even the kids look unhappy when in public.

The National Enquirer (go ahead and laugh, but they were right about John Edwards) has been reporting the past two years that the marriage is over, they’re just going through the motions for appearances, sorta like the last days of Charles and Diana.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they live apart after leaving the White House with the excuse that Michelle will live where the youngest daughter goes to high school and Barack will be working on the library somewhere else. They supposedly have bought a house in southern California where one of them will probably live.

This all sounds very soap-opera like, but that’s the way I see it.

If you look at the presidential schedule, you will learn that King Barry actually attended a fundraiser after the Kimmell show, and on the following day, he flew on to Phoenix where he received a briefing on “veterans issues”, and then returned to DC.

Note that the event in Phoenix is the “official business” that is used to justify the trip, and and the billing of the majority of the expenses to the taxpayer.

The taxpayers might well have not been directly billed for the queen’s expenses, but they paid a price anyway for the security arrangements and the double hit on the people of Los Angeles who had to endure the disruption and traffic jams that the king and queen always cause when they arrive.

Now, if Michelle Antoinette had accompanied the king, that means she would have to have been accommodated in some way for the night, and that would have interfered with the king’s “other plans”.

And that, almost surely, was the real reason why they didn’t travel together.
