2 officers shot at protest outside Ferguson Police Department

FERGUSON, Mo. --

Two officers were shot in front of the Ferguson Police Department early Thursday, authorities said, as demonstrators gathered after the city's police chief resigned in the wake of a scathing Justice Department report alleging bias in the police department and court.

A 32-year-old officer from nearby Webster Groves was shot in the face and a 41-year-old officer from St. Louis County was shot in the shoulder, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said at a news conference. Both were taken to a hospital, where Belmar said they were conscious. He said he did not have further details about their conditions but described their injuries as "serious."

Someone needs to arrest Eric Holder and Al Sharpton for inciting riots and being accessories to attempted murder.

So the situation was calming itself down, looting had stopped, tense but non-active violence. The Justice Department couldn’t have that so they release a report which stokes the flames.

The Ferguson PD should resign en masse and let the steaming turd known as Ferguson fall right in the lap of Gov. Jay Nixon. Make him call out the guard, the state patrol, etc. to manage the unmanageable. But don't just stand there as the punching bag for Eric Holder and his successors. Make them own and take responsibility for dealing with the mob they refuse to see.

They are already having to use personnel from other agencies to assist in
the police duties. I agree with you that the need to call out the guard and lock
that place down. Shut it down at dark and allow no one on the streets without
a permit.

One of the two that was shot was from the County Sheriff’s dept and the other
from a nearby town of Webster police dept..
