Liberals flock to big cities and conservatives flee them (white flight of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, for instance), and you think the city is making them vote a certain way in spite of their own individual political views.
How do Evangelicals vote in big cities? How do non-black Protestants vote in big cities? Do they vote like Jews? The answer is no, and that was true 100 years ago, and 50 years ago, and 20 years ago.
Los Angeles has been a big city for many generations. so how do they vote there, well, it depends on who “they” are.

Im talking about Liberal Jews..the ones I have encountered, perhaps there are a few that think differently but the ones here, especially here in LA do NOT care about Israel..maybe you have encountered different types of liberal jews but come to LA and talk to one, they don’t care about Israel and Im sticking by that
At least you have modified your comments to only apply to Jews in Los Angeles that you know and label as liberal. I communicate with Jews if all political stripes constantly. I know better than to generalize. Politics is notoriously a mine field, and where there are two Jews, there are three opinions. Are you still insisting that the liberal Jews in your family are not bona fide Jews ? Is there now a political test in addition, or instead, of the Jewish mother test ?

Yeah if it looked like I was lumping ALL Jews into the mix I apologize I didnt mean it to come off that way. I just know that the Jews here in LA, especially the ones that vote Democrat, Israel is not their top priority. In 2008, I asked my cousin, who is a Liberal, who he is voting for, and of course he said Obama, I asked him “But he doesn’t care about Israel” and his response “Israel is not my problem” maybe now he sees things differently not sure but with me, I always see Israel as the top priority. I have family in Israel, I have been to Israel numerous times, what happens to them affects me and I don’t want to see Iran get a nuke(I think they already have one) because if they do, Israel will be on its own to protect herself because we have a Commie in the White House who would be pleased to see it wiped off the map
I understand and empathize. I've had my share of frustrating conversations and found they tend to be unprofitable. Making then love and/or respect you because of your behavior despite your different political or religious views seems much more promising.
Its just very disheartening to hear some Jews not give a damn about Israel..during the 2012 election the Democrat party BOOED Israel on live TV and they still received an overwhelmingly Jewish support. I just don’t understand it..but I think it comes down to if you don’t have a special connection to Israel, like family, friends, etc, who live in Israel, its not something that concerns you..I have family(Cousins, etc) in Rishon, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Rehovot, Israel is such a beautiful country. If you’ve never been I really suggest you go there one day, its absolutely beautiful..just don’t go around June its VERY VERY hot over there, unless your a person that likes the heat then yeah go for it :-) I am praying that BiBi wins the election on the 17th, Obama’s cronies are over there right now trying to make sure he loses. I could never imagine that happening but Im hearing the polls are very close its scary to think he might lose

There are many Israelis and American Jews who have different opinions than you and me. It is important not to unfairly portray their opinions and demonize them, so to speak. Surely those who served honorably in the IDF are entitled to an opinion.
Israel is a beautiful country, albeit in a different way than someone may think of beautiful. It is more experiential and the subsequent effect "being there" can have. I am very find of Israel.

I would put them in the same category as those Jews that voted for Hitler and those that supported Stalin in the old Soviet Union. What did they get for supporting these MONSTERS? In Germany, they were put in the ovens, like the rest of the German Jews. In the old Soviet Union, they wound up in the gulag after Stalin got tired of them.

The subject of your comment was "American Jews." What specific organization are you referring to that supports American Jews ? Once I know your answer, I can post other organizations that support American Jews.
There are many Israelis and American Jews who have different opinions than you and me. It is important not to unfairly portray their opinions and demonize them, so to speak. Surely those who served honorably in the IDF are entitled to an opinion.
Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. So, you are saying to disagree with them is to demonize them? And, as every one who has an opinion, in Israel anyway, everyone who is of age serves in the IDF. So, I guess their opinions are about as good as anyone else. And no better. Or does somehow serving in the IDF make your opinion better that someone else?
Does it? And if it does...and it sounds like to me you think it does...then why don’t we take a little poll? And whatever IDF veterans poll, then all Jews will have to follow? Well, that just sounds stupid then, doesn’t it?
