This is just show time for the Regime.

The rap has been “we’re going to go after the criminals!” so they arrest the most heinous, kick them around, make a lotta noise about it and then say “job done!”.

2000 people out of 20 million is noise level.

A related article from the Sac Bee (I think) says just 8 were arrested in the 2-3 counties surrounding Sacramento. Just 8! Wow, there must not be very many criminal illegal aliens out there, after all!
