The reality is what constituted the middle class just 25-30 years ago has broken apart. If you didn’t do really well and get raises (we all know 20 years of wage stagflation) then you went from solid middle class to lower. If you lost a job and had to start lower you’re now the working poor.
As to the article i’m pretty surprised at Rahm and i hope he beats the unions. Never expected him to actually live up to themes the dems espouse but never act upon. It’s always controlling the money line as opposed to giving people a shot at upward mobility.
