Kurtz: Hillary Won’t Be Able to Wait E-mail Story Out

Fox News Media Analyst Howard Kurtz predicted that Hillary Clinton’s reported strategy of waiting for the media to abandon the story on her e-mails wouldn’t work on Friday’s “Kelly File” on the Fox News Channel.

“If Hillary thinks that stalling and stonewalling is going to make the media just yawn and move on, she is in serious denial. If she thinks the whole — her whole defense for the next month is going to be a single tweet, that reinforces the journalistic suspicion that she’s got something to hide. And there’s nothing, Megyn, that drives a story more than a whole pile of unanswered questions” he stated.

I’m beginning to think that maybe for once, finally, at long last, the Clintons aren’t going to walk away from one of their messes. Time will tell.

Hillary! needs to understand that she is not the left’s first love anymore. She has been replaced by grandma Warren in their hearts. If the press thinks they can get warren to jump in by throwing Hillary! under the bus, they will do it in a heartbeat.

If this is the Obama machine moving to clear away the Clinton machine then no, she can’t wait it out and slow-walking the divulgences will just make it worse and worse.

The media has to be taking orders from ValJar on this - Hillary was their heroine, but she is looking more like roadkill after this in part through the efforts of the Enemedia.

This email account was set up on January 13, 2009, just one week before Zero was sworn in. Probably in anticipation of her 2009 Secretary of State appointment. Not just a curious coincidence.

Back in the summer of 2008, at the Dem Convention....Hillary was offered the VP position (it’s been told by multiple sources before), and instead wanted the State Department job. The reason I think was the money funnel to the foundation and prestige for running in 2016, plus another book to write after 2013 to help her cause. So, she knew way before 13 Jan 2009 about her situation.

I would surmise that her handlers looked at the way she operated and that she needed people outside of the State Department and US Gov’t who reviewed her emails and edited as necessary before sending on.

I would also suggest that no one in the White House knew this....they had an established account for her with the gov’t server and just kept sending their emails into that established account, which she never saw or read. So, for the four years....she probably never got a single email from the WH. A shocker, if proven true.

Kurtz tries to lean somewhat to the right on FoxNews, but he is still struggling.

Unanswered questions drive a story? BS. There were a dozen hard questions about Obama in 2008 and the media ignored nearly all of them.

The media are only now questioning Hillary because the word from the party backers seems to have come down that they want her out. This week, the rumbling against Hillary is reminiscent of 2008.

I agree with you..Kurtz was struggling to come up with something that will keep this going. My prediction is a few days of blitz only until the Demon-rats can come up with an effective phony counter-narratvie, and a few days after that it will be old news. My guess is that the conternarrative will be on the lines that HRC was actually doing the smart thing because the Government email was not secure and she hired top security experts blah blah blah to set up her own ultra secure server at her house blah blah blah 55,000 pages blah blah blah.

Makes sense about the Veep turn down. How could she after 4 years walk away and start planning her own run. Taking S.O.S. gave her much more leeway and freedom to go about her own agenda.

Nope, she had no .gov accounts. Zip. She didn't want anyone to have that out, to be able to say they only used her .gov account. She made the whole government complicit, with no escape, to blackmail them into protecting her making confidential emails available to enemies, hackers, countries and NGOs through guaranteed poor security.

Much ado about a whole lot of something, but I'll bet she escapes unscathed.

It may affect her presidential ambitions, but the conventional stupidity will be that 'this is punishment enough' and she'll be slobbered over with thanks for her 'lengthy, distinguished career in public service.'

Where'd I put my throw-up pot? I've written myself into nausea...

I think the combination of her age (she'll be 69 within one month of Election Day 2016), too many scandals (they still haven't completely resolved Whitewater), and her botched 2008 Presidential campaign will be her undoing.

Agreed. I think the age thing is actually far more important than the servers thing.

While the chattering class is all in the age 35-70 range and loves their friend Hillary, she’s a completely new sell to almost half the potential American voters (35 and under).

They will view her as an old hag who had her day. Someone who has no charisma and no power.

Powerful people we think are are never going anywhere always do when they get older. The process is accelerated in this new post America digital culture.

If Hillary had not botched her 2008 Presidential campaign, it’s very likely she would have won back then going away. But that botched campaign could come back to haunt her—especially given her imperious attitude (including a known bad temper).
