The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee announced on Thursday night that hundreds of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s previously “lost” backup tapes have been recovered, which could result in the recovery of a new trove of her emails.
IRS Deputy Inspector General Timothy P. Camus told Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on Thursday that it took investigators just two weeks to recover 424 backup tapes that were previously said to be unretrievable.

Nobody ever believe her account in the first place! The problem is that nobody in charge will try to hold her accountable! We have no real Government at this point.

It was an obvious falsehood that ALL of those drives “crashed”.
And they let them get away with lying.
The reason those “tapes” are there, is for that very reason......backup tapes. All of them “failing” is a statistical impossibility barring a catastrophe.
It’s why the media reported the hard drives as “tapes” as well. Most people aren’t IT technicians, and don’t know what “tapes” are.
I hope she spends the rest of her miserable life behind bars. Or better yet, gets immunity to testify against Obama, leading to his conviction of high crimes and misdemeanors. Or better yet, high treason.
I highly doubt it. Someones head has to roll here. Those e-mails may incriminate her/bama of many other scandals as well.

I meant if that was the agreement. But she won’t get immunity. She got thrown under the bus. She may not have had anything to do with the “tapes” being nuked. But Bama or someone close to him surely did. They incriminate bama or someone else high up in the admin, that’s the only reason they were wiped. Morons probably didn’t even use CIA standards for nuking hard drives.

Why that woman still has aspirations to run for Prez is beyond me — she should’ve been frog marched out of Washington DC for dereliction of duty.

Makes no difference if Congress will not act! So far, I see another bonus for her...geez! We are living in an age of Executive crimes that are excused by the Congress because it is convenient (and makes no waves in the news). Go GOP, you bunch of wimps! Well, that e-mail of the phrase in the headline of this thread kinda leads one to believe that it wasn’t her idea at least, but she went along with it.
What I want to know is, if they wiped them, why didn’t they write and wipe a few dozen times? Morons. They should not be in charge of a hot dog truck. They try to cover up their crime, but can’t even do it right. They work all day with sensitive documents of every single American, but they can’t correctly wipe a hard drive so that no data can be recovered? W T F.
I tend to think that she’s going to eventually do a little time over her part. I think that it’s taken all the time & stonewalling to both sanitize the trail leading to the Obama Whitehouse and to decide exactly how Ms. Lerner will “fall”.
I don’t think that she’ll go away for a long time. A year max.
You know. I often wonder why bama has not been taken care of. I don’t think any real patriots are in positions of power anymore that have connections.

Stompsoft file shredder would have filled the disk with nothing but noise in a short time.
