Even as the eastern U.S. freezes, there’s less cold air in winter than ever before

Even as the eastern U.S. freezes, there’s
less cold air in winter than ever before

Yet, in what may seem like a paradox, the amount of
wintertime cold air circulating around the Northern
Hemisphere is shrinking to record low levels. This
winter (2014-2015) is on track to see the most
depleted cold air supply ever measured.

“We are still on pace to break the all-time record —
no question about it,” says Jonathan Martin, a professor
of meteorology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“Despite the brutal cold in the eastern U.S., the whole
hemisphere is warmer this winter than it has ever been
in history.”

Liberals think the only History that counts is the History that included them.

When your opponent sets the parameters of the argument as Liberals tend to do, getting to the truth is a bigger hurdle than when your dealing with rational people.

February’s average temperature of 25.3 degrees was the lowest average monthly temperature record, ever, for those 20 years. One full degree F lower than the previous record set in January 1996 and tied in February 2007.

Well, your auto calculating thermometer is racist or, or something.

So let me get this straight. The air is colder, but there is less of it, so in reality, the net result is that the earth is warming. I guess it is a negative times a negative making a positive.

They won’t ever say warming compared to what, or when. That would contextualize their narrative which is a cruel thing to do to a liberal narrative. Liberal narratives must be taken in a vacuum, on their own! Everybody has his own reality!

Yep. Anyone ever trained in detecting deception will pick up on a line like this.

“We are still on pace to break the all-time record — no question about it,”

He should've thrown in

this is the honest truth

Category 5 level gobbledegook trying to cover up the fact that RECORD BREAKING cold is occurring throughout the U.S., not just the east coast.

Ya just gotta love that Global Warming/Climate Change that’s smasheing temperature records across the country.

It’s just getting harder and harder for the global warming/climate change “scientific” fools to convince the ignorant peasants that global warming/climate change is busily frying the planet, isn’t it? Still, all the record breaking cold in the world isn’t going to stop the “Progressive” media from spreading “the planet is frying” myth, now will it? After all, we now know that global warming actually makes things colder, much colder, don’t we? But remember, the planet is still frying anyway!

BTW, word to the wise, eat only the white global warming, not the yellow ...

There was a time when some of the more radical groups tried to blow up a number of UW-Madison campus buildings, but the effort was abortive and had no real impact beyond Sterling Hall. I recall this because I was THERE in 1970 when this early revolt was just getting going. The faculty quickly caved in to the threats and there was relative calm on the rest of the campus. The student collective had gained veto control.

Incidentally, the explosive of choice was ammonium nitrate/fuel oil, YEARS before it was used by McVeigh.

LMAO!

The Leftist at the Washington Post are so desperate to try to claim there is Global Warming.

They are having a real time pushing this stuff when most of the U.S. is experiencing record cold temperatures.

The Washington Post is a bunch Leftist idiots! They will tell you it’s raining when they are peeing on you. Don’t waste your time reading it.

For my 4 year degree I had to take an Environmental Science class. I received the textbook and the book was written in 2008 and the authors relied heavily on that guy (won’t call him a scientist) who fudged his climate change data and went to jail for it. I can’t remember the guy’s name. Anyways, I dropped the class when the teacher outright said he believed in global warming and told the class why (because of winds). I listened but knew his theory was only that theory. In order to get my degree I had to take this class so I took the online version of the class. The students in that class were sheeple to the core. Oh and we once again used that book same edition same copyright date. Since the class required commenting on the forum, I always put up opposing ideas until I got into a huge argument with several classmates. I emailed the teacher and told her this class was too political to the left and the book needs to be changed because it was faulty based on the data was faulty. She told me yes it leaned to the left was but to only post the minimal from then on to pass the course. I don’t think that school has changed the Environmental Science textbook to this day. It was two years from when I first took the class and dropped until I finally had to sit through the class uncomfortably. The book starts off with the example of Easter Island and before the class by a week or two Nat Geo produced and aired a documentary on Easter Island that was in contrast to the premise of the book. So of course the book’s credibility in all serious was non existent to say the least. I passed the course only by tuning out the classmates and just doing the work knowing the work was based off incorrect data.

Of course the volume of air doesn’t change, so if there’s anything “less”, it must be related to mass... and the density of air is affected by temperature how?

Did it occur to them that maybe the reason that cold air is “shrinking” is that air shrinks when it gets cold?
