‘PRESIDENT PAUL’: Rand Paul Gets Standing Ovation At CPAC
The Daily Caller ^ | 2/27/15 | Patrick Howley

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul earned a standing ovation at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Friday, with members of the conservative activist crowd chanting “President Paul” at one point.

Paul made clear overtures to a presidential run. The video of his speech is below. Here are some highlights:

“Your rights are in your DNA and the government, quite frankly, can get over it.”

“I say that your phone records are yours! I say that the phone records of law-abiding citizens are none of their damn business.”

“Hillary’s war made us less safe. … As Hillary was declaring victory in Libya, Ambassador Stevens was begging for more security. … I believe that Hillary Clinton’s abdication of responsibility, her refusal to provide an adequate defense for Benghazi, her dereliction of duty, should forever preclude her from higher office. It’s time for Hillary Clinton to permanently retire.”

“Without question, we must now defend ourselves, and American interests, from this barbarous aberration [ISIS]. But it troubles me that we must now fight against our own weapons.”

“I say not one penny more to these haters of America.” - On foreign aid to countries where the American flag is burned

“I propose something truly outrageous. Congress should read every bill. Congress should also live under the laws they pass.”

“It’s time for a new president.”

“Will you vote for freedom?

The reason you approved of what was said? It was a speech.

For those who have been in politics for longer than 15 minutes, and those who have followed politics longer than 15 minutes, context exists. We know what Rand Paul thinks.

If he's changed his mind about open borders, he should say so...and if you could refrain from whining about trolling, you might be taken seriously, too.

If I had to guess, I’d say it probably isn’t his first account. From what I’ve seen, the new signups who display open rudeness have been here before.

Enlightened1’s very quiet all of a sudden.

Rand Paul (according to Heritage) is the 2cd most conservative person in the Senate. He and Ted Cruz are rated 95% only Mike Lee scores higher with 98%.

If he (Paul) gets immigration right he is IMHO acceptable, Cruz is also acceptable.

I suggest you check your research tools and methods. Your conclusion is not based on reality. I’ve been posting here since 2000 without interruptions.

Paul will be elected just as soon as I’m appointed “Grand Poobah” of North America.

CPAC has been overrun with Paulbots for a while now. I’m surprised they did the right thing and kicked out the Log Cabin RINOs this year. After all, their hero “Tea Partier” Rand says we need more gay rights liberals in the GOP so we can be more “inclusive”.

If that's how he scored, then Heritage's ratings are flawed. I can cite numerous issues where Paul's position is NOT conservative.

That sounds par for the course for Paulhroids. Paul followers are often “911 is an inside job” nutters.

About Heritage

The Heritage Foundation

Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is a research and educational institution—a think tank—whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.

We believe the principles and ideas of the American Founding are worth conserving and renewing. As policy entrepreneurs, we believe the most effective solutions are consistent with those ideas and principles. Our vision is to build an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity, and civil society flourish.

Please recall that Hertiage is run by the very conservative Jim Demint

From Wiki
Jim DeMint is a member of the Republican Party and is aligned with the Tea Party movement. In 2011, DeMint was identified by Salon as one of the most conservative members of the Senate. He founded the Senate Conservatives Fund, a political action committee (PAC), which supports conservative, small government, Tea Party–allied Republican politicians in primary challenges and general elections. In 2013, the PAC endorsed a strategy to defund the Affordable Care Act that culminated in the 2013 shutdown of the federal government.

Just for sh!ts and giggles, exactly how are you determining ‘posts’ and frequency. Are you talking about originating threads or just responding to other threads?

Go ahead and check mine then, I’ve ‘originated’ maybe one or two in my entire time here. But I have thousands of replies and comments. Some people here do nothing but “originate” content from other sources - daily, religiously with no side comment at all. Others lurk, inform themselves. And there are those like me who like to converse and exchange ideas and comments on things others have submitted. It does not make them trolls.

All the other tricks seem to be well covered...his gets little exposure outside of his posts. No harm, no foul.
