Hill fight features rumblings of Boehner coup

Washington (CNN)—House Speaker John Boehner faces a looming threat from conservatives to oust him as speaker, and it's tying his hands on funding the Department of Homeland Security.

Congress passed a one-week extension of funding just hours before the deadline on Friday night. It was that fear fueling Boehner's resistance to a longer-term bill, as it might prompt backlash from conservatives. President Barack Obama signed the bill, which funds the Department of Homeland Security through Friday.

Two senior House Republican sources tell CNN there's a serious concern among those close to the Speaker that if he allowed a vote on a clean DHS funding bill, conservatives would make a motion to vacate the chair, a direct challenge to his job.

Conservatives have demanded that any funding bill include a provision rolling back President Barack Obama's executive action delaying deportations for illegal immigrants. Democrats, meanwhile, remain staunchly opposed to tying the two together, and that fight has kept Congress in a stalemate over the bill all week, sending DHS right up to the funding deadline.

While the Senate passed a clean bill funding DHS through the end of the fiscal year this week, it appears conservative opposition is currently discouraging Boehner from bringing up a similar bill in the House.

Moderate Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Charlie Dent acknowledged he has also heard about conservatives using the fight over this DHS bill to try to remove Boehner.

Frankly, I DETEST all this snake-talk about “clean” this and that, “Amnesty” (whatever the definition is according to whoever says it), “essential,” especially when connecting it to DHS, and a plethora of others.

This is a funding authorization and it means something substantive for specific actions and expenditures by this tyrant we are oppressed under.

His executive direction to the DHS and DOJ to not pursue enforcement and disposition of known criminals is not legal, period. He and the DOJ may have some limited discretion with regard to specific cases regarding specific individuals, but they do not have the authority to claim a blanket authority for a group of heretofore unnamed criminals.

If the SOB wants to do that legally, then he’d better start cranking out those 12 million pardons, individually.

Mitch made sure all his minions got elected last year, and added a few more. And will do so again in 2016. He’s not going anywhere. He’s safely reelected and ensconced in his position. That’s why it was so important to take him out last year one way or another. But those of us who advocated for his removal were berated and pounded ad nauseum.

The Democrat media is more afraid of the spread of conservatism in the USA than it is about the spread of militant Islam all over the world. Do they really think they will keep their jobs and their heads in the Islamic Caliphate?

I don’t think Boehner is too awful worried about his speakership. After all the Republican party and Congress is made up 40% Conservative In name Only (CINO), 30% Moderates (RINO), 20% Conservative and 10% Go along to get along professional backslappers with no underlining principals other than to get reelected.
Naa, Boehner is safe.

Boehner is not seriously challenged in the House Republican caucus, and when it came to extracting some concessions on the whole House Speaker vote, conservatives couldn’t manage 30 votes.

Not sure why CNN would go with this, other than they are clueless about reality.

Republicans should have thought of this when they re-elected him in as Speaker.

Boehner wants the DHS funded without restricting funds for Executive Amnesty. Otherwise he would not have brought in the last minute 1-week funding vote, he would just have gone home.

And the proof of Boehner’s duplicity and complicity is that he used democrats to pass his 1-week funding bill. He’s used democrats before and he will do it again because he is not a conservative, he is bought and paid for.

Communists believe they can use the Islamic expansion to get themselves into power. Then when all their opposition is kead or re-educated they can then eliminate the Moslems. Moslems are happy to use Communism to advance Islam because the societies ideally resulting each system are are superficially so similar and Moslems think it would be easy then to smother the Communists among them. The Moslems. Both groups are fanatic in the extreme but Moslems have the edge because they believe they are doing God’s will. Communists only believe they are doing their own will.

The only fuding of DHS that I believee should be passed is ) permanently. That should be followed by abolition of DHS. Then they can start on DOE and EPA and DOE ant the others. Nothing else makes sense in light of the Constitution.

Exactly! And because it’s God’s will Moslems commit suicide, but the Communists won’t.

This is the terrorists advantage.
