#4 – Glenn Frey: “The Heat is On”

This was a trailer for “Beverly Hills Cop” made for MTV. Hollywood discovered that a commercial song in a movie could function as free advertising. This was one more Eagle to fly the nest for a while.

Whatever happened to Judge Reinhold? Did he make it to the Supreme Court?

#19 – Frankie Goes to Hollywood: “Relax”

Yes, it’s about sex. Gay sex. “Nuff said. This is the clean version of the video edited for MTV.

The original dirty version, which was shown on USA’s “Night Flight”, is too explicit to post here. It’s about the – ahem! – activities at a gay club. You can see how AIDS was spread. I won’t post that video, but you’re free to look it up if your stomach can handle it. Be forewarned!

I love it when you post several versions on the same song.
For “Seventh Son”, I would have to go with the Johnny Rivers version.

Being born and raised in Georgia, this has always been a favorite of mine.
Brook Benton - Rainy Night In Georgia
Thank you.
My Georgia roots go back to colonial days, prior to the revolution.

I love that song ... I’m not sure why.

I am reminded that just the other day, I was talking to one of my kids...
and I told him that I had tired of explaining to myself or to others
as to the “why” that I either liked or disliked something...
I am at the point where I either like something or dislike something
and I don’t need to waste any time explaining the “why”
to myself or to anybody else.

#18 – Madonna: “Material Girl”

The naughty girl of Babylon had herself yet another hit, and she was to be one of the dominant artists of the Eighties. She could spin a catchy tune.
