Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a proposed meeting with US Senate Democrats during his upcoming Washington visit, saying it would fuel "misperception of partisanship" over his planned address to Congress.

Netanyahu's decline, confirmed in a letter to Senators Dick Durbin and Dianne Feinstein seen by AFP, cast further attention Wednesday on an already contentious visit by the Israeli leader that has severely strained ties with President Barack Obama's administration.

Why meet with the Democrats? That might be considered campaigning back home and the Democrats have made it clear they don’t want to get involved in the election.

I think what Netanyahu means is that he would meet with them if it were a mixture of the Republicans and Democrats ... and not just the Democrats ALONE. Netanyahu wants any such meeting to be seen as BIPARTISAN!

I concluded years ago that the US would betray Israel when it became expedient. Israel cannot and should not depend on us. Now, what can Israel alone actually do to stop Iranian nukes? Is is too late?

Bibi knows what the dems will try. They will try to bribe him and intimidate him. Then, they will hint that they would hate to see anything happen to his re-election campaign while they offer him some huge amount of money or a position in a democrat controlled corporation. It is so good to see a man of honor and strength piss in their faces. We need some like Bibi in DC.
