The Letter (NET NEUTRALITY)
https://www.battleforthenet.com/letter/ ^

Posted on 02/25/2015 11:30:15 AM PST by yoe

Dear Senators and Representatives:

There is no doubt that the public wants real Net Neutrality. Right now, the Federal Communications Commission is on the brink of fixing a decade of bad policies and preventing ISPs from discriminating online.

In short: Let the FCC do its job. By reclassifying Internet-access service under Title II of the Communications Act, the FCC can protect Internet users from online discrimination and blocking. Any other approach will fall short.

Don't put the public in the slow lane. Protect real Net Neutrality now.

Thank you,

We all need to send the opposite of this evil letter.

Smoke signals

Regulated by the EPA and local fire codes.

I guess we can still whisper into each other's ears, and pass notes surreptitiously.

Historically, whenever a revolution or coup starts, the very first action is to take control of all communication - radio, TV. etc.

To operate a HAM radio you have to be licensed.

The only way to assure limited government is to physically limit government access to control, NOT hope they are saints and will do the right thing.

Government is tasked with protecting Life & Liberty. In all but matters of life & death: A NO to government regulation is a YES to liberty.

...”FCC plan (Obama’s Plan) opens the door to billions of dollars in new fees being added to people’s broadband bills...If you look at your phone bill, you’ll see a line that says, “Universal Service Fee.” ....That applies only to your voice service right now. .....But treating broadband internet access as essentially telephone service, the FCC explicitly opens the door in this document to the assessment of universal service fees at the federal and state level.”

“If you were able to see this document—which you are not—you would see that it explicitly says that in a few months, it says, that we, the FCC, are expected to get a recommendation on how to consider broadband for purposes of this universal service fund fee program. Given the trajectory of the universal service fund policies from the lifeline program to what is called [e-rate?], etc., agencies spending billions of dollars and is looking to expand it even further, it’s impossible for us to spend money from the universal service fund on this programs without including contributions from the providers, which are essentially fees based on broadband connections.”

(one of the FCC Commissioners who opposes this Pai I think, I’ll try and get the link again...these are just a couple excerts from 6 pages of information)

Let's work on that statement a little....
“To operate a Ham Radio LEGALLY you have to have a license”..
you can pick up a SW Radio at any pawn shop, antenna can be strung between trees and head sets cut the noise down...
I may have to refresh my muscle memory of Morse Code, but get a mobile set and it wont take me too long to find like minded Radio Freepers.
Do you think a “Shoot and scoot scenario might be coming up. LRRP background might come in handy down the line

After 26 years in communications in the military I can tell you that “shoot & scoot” is not as easy as some would say. As for Morse code I don’t find it much use as not many know it.

If you are trying to remain undetected it’s damn near impossible. If you key you mic for more than a few seconds you can be DF’d (direction finding). My favorite antennas were always the field expedients!

I am to assume that you are for the (eventual) censorship and shutdown of the internet as a free speech medium.

Why the ***k are you on this forum, one of the very first that will be shut right down?

You posted the letter, and a post below it supporting the concept.

You are an enemy of freedom, then, for as I wrote in another post:

Anti-free-speech legislation will quickly be introduced... oh, I'm sorry, we don't do that any more. Obama will quickly sign an Executive Order that will ban Hate Speech and Terrorism Speech.

The definition of those will be: Any criticism of Muslims. Any criticism of gays. Any criticism of the Orwellian Police State. Distribution of any news not coming from the Communist Propaganda Organs of CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, the NYT, the WP, or the LAT. Blockages of the often-insightful news coming from England.

The FCC will be granted SWAT teams, and they will be used to kill and arrest anyone who dissents from the official propaganda line. And you know what? You will never hear about those raids. That will be forbidden news, too.

We are now to be 100% just like the Soviet Union, in absolutely every way.

If you liked the IRS treatment of TEA Party and Patriot groups you’ll love what the FCC does to them!

If this is the way you want to live take your worthless butt to North Korea!

1. Network bandwidth is not an infinite resource.
2. Some activities hog the networks, so ISP's throttle it so all f us can still function
3. Those who wish to hog the bandwidth say it's unfair that the ISP's don't let them hog ALL the bandwidth.
4. The government will "fix" this by turning the Internet into Obamanet.
