I tried to explain the motivations behind the MSM made up “scandal”. One is ideological. One is jealousy by liberals who will never have the audience or success of O’Reilly. One is to attack Fox and conservatives after the MSM credibility was hurt by Brian Williams and other.
If you went through everything written by a public person and look hard enough you can find inconsistencies in terminology.
Whether or not O’Reilly is a true conservative or not is irrelevant. The liberal MSM are painting him as one and using him to attack conservatives. Read the article. That was the whole point.
That is a true statement.
The Falkland Islands are a LONG way from Buenos Aires, and it is near impossible to mistake one for the other.
Same here, have not watched in long time.
I wonder who his replacement might be?
From O'Reilly's book The No Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America: Ive reported on the ground in active war zones from El Salvador to the Falkland Islands.
It would appear that BOR not only stretched the truth about being in a war zone and seeing many people gunned down and killed ... seems ol’ BOR also stretched the truth about being outside the door of someone committing suicide around the time of the Kennedy assassination. Poor Bill. Poor, poor phony Bill.
“OReilly wrote in his 2012 book Killing Kennedy that he was knocking on the door of a CIA asset with ties to the Kennedys and the Oswalds when he heard the asset shoot himself to death. Pretty dramatic, but its entirely false, says Jefferson Morley, a former Washington Post editor and author of JFK assassination book Our Man in Mexico. OReilly is heard on phone calls obtained by Morley telling an investigator that he would fly to Florida from Texas the next day to cover the suicide.”
Some people are just lucky that way.
hey Paul Waldman, why don’t you ask democrats how they feel Bill’s ‘orgy’ island escapades will effect Hillary’s chances...
If you listen to the Corn interview with Hugh Hewitt, it seems Corn gets awfully defensive...
BOR exaggerated his “combat experience.” But CBS’ own video shows that the riots were serious. The Argentine military junta was toppled.
David Corn did not just exaggerate. He lied.
That statistic simply can't be true. Fox would take him off the air if those were his only viewers.
I think the best solution is for CBS news to fire Bill O’Reilly.
Shots were reportedly fired at one of the protests in question.
Consider how the Left discusses Kent State's shooting. The writers in this controversy are saying that shots were only fired over the heads of the protesters; no one was in any danger, really.
This is all distraction. They are bringing up an “oh yeah, well...” counterpoint to Brian Williams’ own mythmaking.
The funny thing is, it only serves to lay the groundwork for the voting public to reject the Clintons’ attempt at returning to the White House. Whether it was Hillary dodging bullets in Europe to her daughter being ‘at’ Ground Zero on 9-11, to Bill Clinton recalling church fires in Arkansas, and on and on...
And who is BO’R except a legend in his own mind?
David Corn doesn’t even know if Alger Hiss was a Communist agent and doesn’t really care about history.
But he likes a good witchhunt when he’s the one doing the hunting!
Median age for all viewers of the Big Four (ABC, CBS, NBC and FX) is 53.9 years old, according to a 2013 article in Media Life magazine: TV viewers: Gray and getting grayer. It makes common sense that news programs would be viewed primarily by older people, not young people, nor low-info voters.
Liberals set up a utopian ideal, such as that all people ARE equal because they SHOULD BE equal, and then are astonished to find that:
age really does bring wisdom,
older people are more likely to stay home and watch television in the evening than younger people,
white people are still a numeric majority in this country and
blacks are less interested in viewing news reports than whites, even though those same liberals tell us chapter and verse about how unequally blacks perform in jobs, earnings, school and any other measure of free-market capitalism involving personal responsibility and initiative.
I listened to most of it. Corn is a liar, always has been. He’s achieved what he wanted, a few days in the news cycle from which he was absent since Fox didn’t renew his contract.
He wasn't many years on from having taught high school at that point. He must have got used to using it to maintain order.
