What they need to do is arm every ethnic Lithuanian in the country. That in itself would make the Russians loath to invade.

I don’t blame them. NATO membership doesn’t seem to be much these days.

Latvia, Estonia, and even Poland should also be taking measures in my opinion.

Waiting for the Putin apologists to come on and say Putin is only going to invade Lithuania to protect the native Russians living there.

It’s people who speak Russian.

Countries need to make sure that no kids learn Russian!

Does "conscription" mean military draft?

Of the three Baltics, Lithuania has the smallest potential fifth-column of Russians within its borders . Latvia has the largest problem.

“within its borders”

Russia has no problem with crossing borders.

Yes, Russia depends on the draft, and their invasions are forcing other nations to adopt a military draft.

Sounds like most Lithuanians don’t think anyone is coming to invade. If they did, you wouldn’t need slavery, oops, conscription.

“As you know, the Kaliningrad region is isolated, geographically isolated, so we could apply some measures also to cut something,” the Reuters news agency quoted Linas Linkevicius as saying on Wednesday. “Transport, we could cut off trains, but not only trains, also the supply of goods, whatever. It is theoretically possible,” the official added.”

Lithuania says that to support Ukraine, they will blockaid Kaliningrad. Its like the whole region is spoiling for another of their bloodfests. What the heck does Kaliningrad and Lithuania have to do with relations between the EU and Ukraine? Lithuania just joined NATO in 2004, so now they get to unilaterally provoke a fight and expect we all enjoy another war on the eastern front?
Howzabout they don’t block Kalinigrad, and not get invaded, and not need any war or any conscription? I know that’s crazy talk.

For Lithuania every healthy male has to go through a military training and periodical refreshment training. Employers are required by law to give the men called for refreshment training a time off. This exists in addition to career military. Guys going to places like Iraq and Afghanistan are from career military.
