Message From a Pro Gay Marriage Heterosexual Republican
The Huffington Post ^ | February 23, 2015 | Christian Caballero

Fellow Republicans, you are sadly mistaken if you believe that the results of the November 2014 elections are a sign from the American people that the coast is clear to continue operating as you have in the past. You should not read into the results as predictive of the 2016 presidential elections. If you want to avoid a very short-lived honeymoon at the top you will have to govern in accordance with the realities that exist in America today. One of those realities is that the prohibition of gay marriage is a form of discrimination that our court system is finally getting around to correcting. The unquestioned fact is that the government provides benefits to married couples, and because gays cannot marry they cannot avail themselves of those benefits - that is discrimination on its face. This message is not about insisting that you accept homosexuality in your personal life; that would be un-American. My case is that we welcome gays into the legal institution of marriage because to continue to fight against it is contrary to spirit of our Constitution.

Tossing salad is dangerous. You can get e-coli from it.

You know that's true when you catch libs using gay slurs to put down conservatives, e.g., "You're obviously a closet gay."

That's what the 'tea bagger' slur was all about.

Another RiNO trying to "get past" social-conservative irrelevancies. Like letting the country turn into a Third World hellhole rampant with mewling turned-out catamites and rent-boys who used to be someone's proud and honorable Boy Scout son.

Yeah, let's all just chant the Doonesbury chant,

"Hey, ho, Go with the Flow.... "

Hey, Karl? Come on over here and write your own g________d screed, okay? Don't farm it out to some flunkie. I know you think we're beneath your notice now and that you needn't actually talk to us anymore, but just for the drill, go ahead and be a mensch anyway, and maybe we won't teach you why you shouldn't do crap like this later on.

Maybe my memory is fading, but I don’t remember the media hammering on the black civil rights issue in the same way that they are hammering on gay marriage.

That's because the black civil-rights movement wasn't full of hate-filled, vindictive homosexuals who are quite possibly the most venomous people on earth.... Even moreso than the bitter-ender jihadis running around Syria setting people on fire.

My grandfather was an assistant prosecutor in Indiana 85 years ago. He told my father that you could always tell when a murder was a homosexual falling-out by the blood on the ceiling...... And that was in the day of 10-foot ceilings.

Prior to joining the Department of Juvenile Justice, he served as deputy director of cabinet affairs to Florida Governor Jeb Bush. He advised Governor Bush on matters related to insurance regulation, highway safety matters, land acquisition, growth management, alternative energy development and environmental conservation. Notably, Mr. Caballero was the governor's primary advisor during the acquisition of 74,000 acres by the state, the single largest conservation land purchase in the history of Florida.

Mr. Caballero was invited by former Secretary of Defense Bill Cohen to serve on a panel to discuss the overrepresentation of minorities in prison, a panel that included Supreme Court Justice David Souter, F. Lee Bailey, Barry Scheck and several other prominent experts.

I’m surprised FR allows links to marxist porn like the Huffington Post, Slate, Salon, Mother Jones, and the Nation. Pure marxist porn.

My case is that we welcome gays into the legal institution of marriage because to continue to fight against it is contrary to spirit of our Constitution.

My case is that the holy, divinely inspired Word of God trumps even the spirit of our Constitution, and He has condemned homosexual acts, (not necessarily homosexual orientation itself,) as sin. It would follow that those who commit those acts in spite of knowing they are sinning are under His condemnation, and governments that legitimize that sin will come under His judgement. If anyone doubts that homosexual acts, not homosexual orientation, is sin against God just read the 1st chapter of Paul's epistle to the Roman Christians.

I can have pity on those who practice that sad and dangerous lifestyle, but I can't sanction that lifestyle as a legitimate act of marriage. Marriage was created and established by God in the Garden of Eden, and His version is the only one I can or will acknowledge as legitimate, lawful marriage. What I acknowledge won't count for anything in the argument, but what God's retribution for America's gross violation of His holy law will.
