The Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden says there is a welcome mat out for women SEALs if they can meet the grueling physical and mental standards that exist today.
Former Chief Petty Officer Robert O’Neill, whose handpicked SEAL Team Six unit raided bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan, answered “absolutely” when asked whether women can meet the demands of sea, undersea, ground and airborne warriors.
Asked by The Washington Times how he knows, Mr. O’Neill said, “I’ve met women that I think can beat me up. I’m not joking. Here in the states. There are some tough women out there.”
The Pentagon in 2013 lifted the ban on women serving in direct land combat units, such as infantry, armor and special operations.
U.S. commands have been validating physical standards for their units, among them the SEALs. If naval special warfare wants to keep the SEALs all-male, it must make that case to Pentagon civilian leaders.
Both the Army and Marine Corps have been conducting combat training experiments with women. The SEALs to date have not.

I like to use track and field events as comparisons as times and distances can be recorded very accurately.
As an example, back in the 70s I was on a college track team. We had four Sprinters who could run 10.4 or faster for the 100 meters. Only one was a world class sprinter.
All four of us could have beaten the current world record for women. If not for a single woman, Florence Griffith-Joyner, we could have beaten them all easily.
Same for the weight events etc.
Now one of our sprinters really was world class but the rest of us were just very good college sprinters. We were nothing like as elite as Seal team 6 members.
That should make it pretty easy to understand.

I object to women serving as a SEAL, but women already serve in different capabilities in JSOC and are capable of performing various task that men do.
Not even then. Have you ever been at an all-guy event, and somebody shows up with a girlfriend in tow?
It may seem like a trivial example, but the result would be the same if you dropped girls into SEAL (or any combat unit) training. The truth is, women change the atmosphere. You can't bond with a female in the same way you can bond with a brother. And gelling with your comrades to the point that you are truly brothers is one of the biggest parts of what makes combat units work well.
No apples and oranges is when the men throw a 16 pound shot and women throw one much lighter then they compare the distances.
Apples to Apples is when they both run 100 meters. Or even better when they run a mile with a hundred pound pack on their back. Apples and Oranges is when the guys carry 100 pounds and the girls carry 20.
I watched a bunch of Air Force Pararescue swimmers swimming with a tire around their neck. Having those college swimmers do the same thing would be apples to apples as that is the kind of things they train for in reality.
I have helped train two female Army Divers.
Your own run times are up in the upper echelon of performance and would be beyond most SOF members.
Oh I don’t doubt that I could beat nearly all of them in a hundred yard sprint. I would not beat them in a mile run, especially carrying a heavy weight.
I used the 100 meter times as a simple and accurate way to compare male vs. female performances. When you get into training which seals Rangers etc. endure the differences would have been even greater.

Which is precisely why the left has pushed so hard to have women put into combat units. The goal is to destroy the warrior culture. Plain and simple.

I would welcome female SEALs if they could pass SEAL selection and the rest of SEAL training, but I’d guess there is not even one woman alive who could. Very few men are fit enough, and of those men very few actually pass. For a woman to pass would be like a woman getting a medal (even bronze) in men’s Olympic weight lifting. Yes, women can lift weights, but no, none of them are in that top fraction of a percent compared with the best among men. It’s biology - testosterone - not culture or sexism.
All women know this subconsciously, but most liberal women just refuse to give up the notion of ruling the world. Control, control, control. From the day of the apple. For me, swimming into muck is totally unacceptable (unless it was to save my son who was playing in it).
I forget. How many women are playing football on mens teams?
