Libtards like Steve Cohen continue to annoy me by misinterpreting the 3/5s clause, which the libtard's slave-owning progenitors put into the Constitution to increase their Congressional representation. Counting them the same as everyone else would have given slaveowners even more seats and power. Opponents of slavery wanted to not count slaves at all.
It had nothing to do with anyone thinking Blacks were "worth" 3/5s of what a White person was and therefore it's use in the modern day in this context is inappropriate and idiotic.
You want an example of racism, Steve? Look at the Blacks in your Black-majority district who won't support you because you are White (and even worse, JEWISH), even though you vote and spout nonsense just like the Black democrats in the House. Those people are racist.
People are just plain ignorant of history. Fortunately I know some black dude (and he's liberal Democrat black!) who went off about people don't understand the 3/5ths compromise and make idiotic remarks about how "racist white people only considered blacks to be 3/5ths human".
The reality of the situation was that the racist slave owners at the time were the ones who wanted slaves counted a FULL "person" in order to increase slave owners clout in government. Conversely, the abolitionists were the ones who wanted to slaves to "count" as NOTHING, since they knew the slave owners gave them ZERO rights and ONLY used their numbers to generate government perks for slave owners. The 3/5ths compromise was the result. Furthermore, "blacks" were never considered to be "3/5ths" of a person, only enslaved people (of any race) were counted that way. Free blacks were ALWAYS "counted" as full persons in the census, just like their white counterparts were.

Very true. Gotta love the gall of this guy, going off about how white Republicans are "Racist" when the only people engaging in racist actions are the black Dems who treat him like a second-class citizen in the Dem caucus solely because he's not black like them.

Steve Cohen, it must be remembered, tried to join the Congressional Black Caucus because his district is over 60 percent black.

I am certain a large % of these scum who repeat this nonsense know full well what the 3/5s clause means, (Cohen is an attorney) they are counting on their voter base to NOT know so they can it use to manipulate them cause it's just too good to pass up. Sadly, that is something they can indeed count on in most cases.
