Jane Fonda said she hoped for an open dialogue with veterans after about 50 former military members and supporters protested the actress’s appearance Friday evening at the Weinberg Center for the Arts.
“Whenever possible I try to sit down with vets and talk with them, because I understand and it makes me sad,” Fonda told a relatively full theater, responding to a submitted question. “It hurts me and it will to my grave that I made a huge, huge mistake that made a lot of people think I was against the soldiers.”
In 1972 Fonda visited Hanoi, North Vietnam, where she criticized attacks on the dike system along the Red River. A U.S. investigation later revealed the publicity of these bombings as propaganda. Fonda’s statements and a photograph of her sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft battery outraged many Americans and veterans, leading many to call her “Hanoi Jane” and a “traitor.”

She did more than that. I believe she took a note that was put in the palm of her hand from one of the prisoners and gave it to the guards.
If that is true, then she’s directly responsible for what happened to that soldier as a result of that act.
Kerry is Secretary of State. In this administration she could be Secretary of Defense.

Even though she’s supposedly great talent as an actress, she has never even pretended to offer a truly contrite, remorseful apology.
I can forgive but not forget. Yes we carry our mistakes to our graves, then God will judge. God himself will not forgive those who are unwilling to forgive others.
She’s an absolutely filthy piece of celebrity scum who should’ve been shot by a firing squad many, many years ago.
I am so sick of hearing her rear her botoxed head every few years to try to “make nice” about her disgusting, traitorous, and deadly behavior many years ago.
God, I wish she’d shut up, and just wrinkle away.
