On Monday I wrote about a curious British reaction to the Charlie Hebdo massacre:
The other day Wiltshire Police went to a local newsagent and demanded that, in the interests of "community cohesion", he hand over the names of every customer who bought a copy of Charlie Hebdo... This is Mother England in 2015: You can still read samizdat literature, but your name will be entered in a state database.
The Daily Mail's Amanda Williams reports today that this was not a one-off idiosyncracy by some bozo coppers in one county, but came from the very top:
National Anti-Terror Unit Handed List Of Charlie Hebdo Stockists To Local Forces Who Then Went Round Demanding To Know Who Bought Copies
The man responsible for this decision is Sir Peter Fahy, Chief Constable of Greater Manchester, who holds the additional responsibility of "national police lead for preventing extremism". A Chief Commissar for Preventing Extremism is a title that not so long ago one would have had to go to Eastern Europe or a banana republic to find. But it is now held by a British policeman.

I visited England in 2007.
I am not so sure I’d ever go back.
Islam was dormant for 500 years after the west finally forced it back into the middle east after generations spent defending itself.
The muslims now look poised to take everything they coveted in less than two generations.
We have driven God out and are about to be devoured.

Every English patriot should turn up at their local police station and self report themselves as buyers of Charlie Hebdo. Ridicule the system.
I know you read over here from time to time. I know because you quoted me when I said "...that Steyn is an exceptional writer but simply awful on the radio."
At the time, you focused on the negative part of the statement. I stand by that, by the way.
But I would like you to focus, today, is the other point in that sentence. You are an EXCEPTIONAL writer, as demonstrated again with this piece.
It seems that the anti terror efforts in England and perhaps in the USA are designed for the protection of terrorists.
Just wait until obamas’ internet czar demands the IP addresses of everyone going to FreeRepublic.
Then the knock on the door comes ... if the flash bangs don’t come through the windows first.

Or intolerant of people who can take current events, make them funny, then informative...
That is what a good teacher does, make people WANT to learn.
Steyn would have a huge following on the radio, bringing in the ‘low information voters’ as Rush calls them.

Exactly! The country and the west in general swirls around the bowl flushing straight to Hell and he giggles at his own jokes, to the point of almost being tasteless. Other than that, he has great mind and is a great asset for conservatism.
