It really is isn't it? Someone posted it here a few months ago and I've been running with it. It cuts through the Climate Liar's hype like a razor.
Here is another simple proof that no Climate Liar can answer...
No smoking hot spot1. The greenhouse signature is missing. We have been looking and measuring for years, and cannot find it.
Each possible cause of global warming has a different pattern of where in the planet the warming occurs first and the most. The signature of an increased greenhouse effect is a hot spot about 10km up in the atmosphere over the tropics. We have been measuring the atmosphere for decades using radiosondes: weather balloons with thermometers that radio back the temperature as the balloon ascends through the atmosphere. They show no hot spot. Whatsoever.
If there is no hot spot then an increased greenhouse effect is not the cause of global warming. So we know for sure that carbon emissions are not a significant cause of the global warming. If we had found the greenhouse signature then I would be an alarmist again.
The question of what gas is attributed by scientists to be causing global warming is loaded. Scientists know that the sun and volcano activity, for example, affects the climate and is not accounted for in the chicken little’s man-made carbon gas climate change models. The carbon based climate models have proven to be wrong.
Finally, throughout history the climate has changed - even before man with suv’s populated the earth.
No it isn't. The correct answer is Water Vapor, which makes up 95% of 'Global Warming' gasses. No water vapor in the atmosphere, and this planet would be an ice cube.
CO2 does not make any difference one way or another.
Global Warming on Free Republic
“Liberals were more likely to correctly answer questions like: What gas do most scientists believe causes temperatures to rise? The correct answer is carbon dioxide.”
This is wrong in the context of global warming. Because the more carbon dioxide that is released the less the warming.
The most potent green house gas is water vapor followed by methane.
I am assuming they arrived at this answer by asking anyone who is a scientist without regard for their knowledge of climate change.
That was my take too. It was a test of knowledge of what other people (themselves assumed to knowledgeable) think about things, rather than what is demonstrably proven or what is consistent with physical science. Meaning, that even if a person scores “poorly”, it doesn’t mean that they’re ignorant or not intelligent.
The pole-ice-melting question was alright, though. That points more to logic and common-sense science knowledge.
Oh, the science is “settled”; it’s just wrong (probably).
