Yes, Scott Pelley broke into the commercials at the end of Criminals Minds to give a special report on Simon’s death. He mentioned that Simon and his production crew were held captive in Iraq for 44 days.

I remember that self hating Jew. Rabbi Meir Kahane, zt"l, formed Jews against [Jesse] Jackson to stand up to the black antisemite and Bob Simon took great offense at the leader of the event for criticizing that antisemite. In fairness to the late Mr. Simon, self haters such as himself are as dangerous or more dangerous than the antisemites because the antisemites can point to these kapo types as an excuse.

You’re right to buckle up regardless of whether it’s legally required. Just remember General Patton who was mortally injured in a car accident that happened at about 20 m.p.h. when he wasn’t wearing a seat belt, none being available for cars in 1945 or 1946.

At one time 60 Minutes was considered a top notch investigative news magazine which always had a segment on some famous Hollywood star. When I say, “star,” I mean some Hollywood greats who actually knew how to act back in the day when Hollywood movies were decent, not the pornographic/violent krap released today. The show was informative and entertaining.

I haven't watched in years. True actors died off and the fossils who hosted the show started to espouse liberal garbage. The investigations turned into witch hunts aimed primarily at conservative figures.

But be that as it may — rest in peace, Mr.Simon and may God give comfort to your family and friends.

Livery cabs are only allowed to pick up passengers that ‘call’ them. Sort of like a car service. A taxi is licensed to pick up passengers on any street at any time. Taxi’s can cruise for fairs, liveries can not, they must be called.

I remember when he was interviewed after his rescue how he at least had a very bitter and dead on appraisal of his captors and what they thought of him and his being Jewish...I vaguely remember him thinking that his captors were cockroaches.
