I was talking about Scotch-and-Soda-Blast. Besides, I blast, the other guy paints.

I am very fond of modern coatings, nonetheless. In cold climates, they tend to come off in large easily handled sheets, rather than in little niggling bits.

O screw Interlux.

What you want is Martha Stuart Latex. Or if you're a lobsterman from Maine, Sears Porch and Deck Paint. Comes in Gray and Buff.

IMHO, the yardbirds with their pneumatic needle-guns are much more annoying than chipping hammers. On the other hand, at least on a pre-comm crew, we didn’t have to stay aboard the whole time they were working.

Too pricey.

But thanks for the link.

I may have found a better source, for something nearly comparable (1 or 2 mils thinner, but comparable holding strength), but I hate to have to order the same stuff which used to be available at reasonable price, on hardware store shelves most everywhere.

$38 a roll at your link

less than $5 at Zorro more here, scroll down for wide selection. Free shipping for orders over $50, so they say.

Nashua was the brand I was looking for, in what they called 498.

On the inside of the roll there would be a number. The 498 was the highest glue strength commonly available, 20-30 years or so, ago.

200 was a lot lesser, but became common marking inside of a other brands rolls.
