“In fact, it is in his favor and he should flaunt it.”
My thoughts exactly.
“For me, if the guy has an Ivy League degree, then he’s probably no good. The “super smart” academics just seem to make a lot of stupid decisions.”
____
So Cruz is out?
“Walker has an opportunity to turn the table on the college educated elites. He is living proof that people without a college degree an be really smart and accomplish great things. If he handles this issue correctly...he will make liberal heads explode.”
_______
This can be a dangerous ploy. Too many here are equating educated with liberal. There are lots of conservatives who have college educations, and if Walker comes out acting as though a college degree is a negative, it can backfire.
The real problem he is going to face is every time he hits a bump in the road. Every time he answers wrong, or can’t name of the Prime Minister from Who-gives-a-crap-istan, the press is going to jump all over it. Just watch (hell, he’ll probably get some in the primary. Do you think that Cruz, with his impeccable academic record is going to let Walker try to say that education is not important, or maybe a hindrance?)
Of course, Scott Walker can be president. Considering past presidents with college degrees, it actually may be an advantage.
Scott Walker and every other person who would wish to become president have only to satisfy three constitutional requirements. A college degree is not one of the three.
Are you kidding me? How many people out there would associate “give em hell, Harry” with Truman? For that matter, how many people would associate “the buck stops here” with Truman? I rather suspect most of those who would associate those terms with Truman are approaching retirement age or already there. For that matter, I suspect even fewer have the slightest idea what who people wanted Harry to give hell to.
I don’t care about the college degree. I’m still luke warm on Walker. He’s going to have to show me the money before I jump on board. Right now Cruz, Jindal and Perry are my top 3 choices. In that order.
I think College has just become an extension of high school, preventing students from growing up and enabling them towards more immaturity.
“Yeah, I know. Scott Walker doesnt have any post high school education, much less Ivy League. “
That is incorrect. Walker attended Marquette University for several years and intends on finishing his degree by 2016. All this excitement about his not having a college degree will be a moot point. I believe he was only one semester short of finishing.
I just want all the Walker supporters to expect an attack from Leftist regarding his academic credentials.
Who knows maybe it will backfire on them with all the new immigrants that will be voting. I doubt most of them will have degrees.
Personally I like it that Walker doesn't have an Ivy League education. The elite revolving door of Ivy Leaguers is a huge reason why this country is in the mess it is in. ...I'm willing to excuse Cruz though, and he is considered by some to be one of the smartest people to ever go through Harvard.
You got that right. We are sending a lot of kids to school for worthless degrees. The top five jobs that require college degrees rank on the bottom five in number of graduates. Top needs are Finance, Econ, Math, Engineering, Accounting while bottom are education, communication, journalism, psychology, sociology. However, the highest GPA are in the lowest demand degrees. It does not take a genius to figure out that universities use grade inflation to keep kids in school to pay overpriced tuition to support inflated budgets all financed by generous tax payers in the form of student loans.
Academia is certainly afraid of a successful person with the power to change this scheme.
