More than a dozen congressional Democrats say they plan to skip Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to a joint session of Congress amid conflicting signals over whether he will pull out from the March 3 address.
Netanyahu struck a defiant tone during a campaign event in Israel on Monday, saying he was “determined” to present the case for why Israel opposed the ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran “before the members of Congress and the American people.”
“This is not a political issue or a party issue, neither here nor there. This is an existential issue, and I approach it with the fullest responsibility,” he said.
But multiple reports on Monday suggested that his office was weighing ways Netanyahu could alter his plans to mend what has become a tough diplomatic breach, and the Israeli leader did not explicitly mention the speech to a joint session in his public comments.
The White House has expressed frustration over the speech, which was scheduled by Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) without consulting the administration.
Aides have said that the move was a violation of protocol both because the White House wasn’t involved and because it comes just two weeks before Israel’s own elections — a concern President Obama raised again Monday during a press conference.
“I think it’s important for us to maintain these protocols — because the U.S.-Israeli relationship is not about a particular party,” Obama said.
Netanyahu has come under some criticism in Israel for politicizing the U.S.-Israeli relationship, and some of his public comments on Monday appeared aimed at combating that criticism.

Republicans should make large placards. Each placard should list the name of a missing representative. A placard should be placed on every empty seat. The empty seats should be isolated directly in front of Bibi and instructions should go forth that the camera operator should pan across the empty seats and linger long enough for viewers to read the names of each anti-semite.

I continue to hope that the Jews in America will realize that their loyalty to the DemonRATs is in blindness to reality. The root of the DemonRATs problem with Israel may be the annual $3 billion in U.S. aid. If that is their problem, it reflects a short sighted National Security Strategy that is like a drug addict willing to sell their mother. In this case, Jews in America had better wake up. If the DemonRATs hold on to the White House, they will be throwing Israel under the bus along with Netanyahu for a few shillings.
The Jews in America have been brainwashed by idea of the goodness of Big Government. There is a socialist vein that runs through American culture. That vein runs deep in the Jewish culture.
The funding and military appropriations- go to both sides. The money being made is untold. This is sold as political kabuki/super bowl bs, in the surreal name of US security. It is anything, but that, in reality. The real deal is funding of the demise, of Our Liberty, Freedom and Justice. There is no party system in the United States of America, that is reflected by Our caste voting. At least Israel, has the chance of saving us.
Apart from the economic support of Israel, the big issue is Iran’s development of nuclear weapons. Israel knows Iran’s nukes will be used against them. Then, they will release them to the terrorists. The terrorist would use them as savagely as beheading and raping a seven year old girl. Such technology may be in the form of a EMP weapon which will fry all electronics circuitry in the United States. For starters, imagine all the highways clogged with cars that have had their electronics fried. We would have an existential event of unthinkable horror. This is not a time for political bickering. These are dangerous times.
