That’s the argument of the opposition to Netanyahu in Israel. AND ... it appears to me that Obama “set this up” to make it look that way, in order to give the Israeli opposition something to use. It’s been FAKED by Obama!
It’s the exact same type of invitation to speak to Congress the last time this was done (last year I think?). This is the time that Netanyahu is always over here in the USA for AIPAC ... and AIPAC is at the same time as his invitation to Congress. In other words, Netanyahu is here anyway. He was already scheduled to speak at AIPAC long before this.
Again, it was the same the last time Netanyahu spoke at AIPAC and Congress. Obama is simply “PLAYING TO THE OPPOSITION” this time, because this time there is an election going on. Obama didn’t do it last time, because Netanyahu didn’t have an election.
And it seems that you’re playing to the opposition, too ... here.
I think that's just too simplistic. There's something "off" with Netanyahu as the Prime Minister. He makes a great TV guest, paid speaker, but he lacks that "something" that turns his "defense of his people" into concrete, peaceful results.
James Baker in the Bush 41 administration had Netanyahu barred from the State Department. For 25 years as both a Republican and a Democrat Robert Gates has wanted to bar him from the Defense Department and the WH.
Clinton (yeah, Clinton :) ) couldn't stand him. After one of Netanyahu's infamous lectures, Clinton could be heard screaming: "Who's the effing superpower here?". Sarkozy is on tape saying he couldn't stand Netanyahu, that he was "a liar". Hollande is now done with him. Merkel is known to have screaming matches with Netanyahu--more times than not hanging up on him. Great Britain is moving away from Netanyahu.
No, my friend. It's one thing to "defend" your people. It's another to alienate yourself in the process. This does not help Israel.
I think being Prime Minister is not Netanyahu's gift. He's a marvelous, silver-tounged flame-thrower. But there isn't a drop of diplomat in him. And diplomacy--the art of winning over others--is what Israel needs.
I hope Israeli's for Israel's sake thank BiBi for his service and sends him off to write another barn-burner book.

I disagree. The initial invitation was for a date in February--which would have happened with some initial, but much less, uproar. Netanyahu said no to the February date and proposed combining his Congressional appearance with his AIPEC visit (moving it closer to the Israeli elections, the Iranian deadline and the US Congressional vote on sanctions).
Netanyahu handed the baseball bat to Obama.
I am honestly surprised we do not have a "Hot Mic" incident of him talking about "Those Damn Jews" or some such. I know he must have said that in private >:(

At this point I wouldn’t care if Bibi came and just read the Sunday funny pages dialogue balloons to congress. He is invited and should not be jerked around and insulted like obama and his islamoNazi comrades are doing. They’re embarrassing the hell out of themselves — and America. They make me sick.

Well I think it’s very embarrassing of them. I do not claim they represent us U.S. citizens but they are occupying offices in our govt ( or what used to be our govt) and as such I think their disgustingly rude misconduct does still tend to besmirch and tarnish us all Maybe that’s an old - fashioned idea though I admit. They do have the bully pulpit and we don’t, though. So they get to put their poison out there into the public square

There aren’t many surprises here. Anyone’s who has been following politics at all has surely seen numerous examples of STOOPID uttered or performed by these 10 clowns. Makes one wonder what qualifications are needed to run for Congress. And apparently the qualifications to vote are way too low as well. Frankly I’m surprised not to see Al Franken’s name and a few others of that ilk.
That is easily the most insanely drawn congressional district I have ever seen.
