‘Nightly News’ Takes Ratings Hit During Brian Williams Crises (all three newser nitworks hit hard)

Preliminary Nielsen ratings show “NBC Nightly News” dropped -36% on Friday from last week’s Monday-Thursday average among A25-54 viewers. NBC’s competitors were down too, but not as much: ABC was down -16% while CBS was down -17% on Friday.

Brian Williams may turn out to be American Main Stream Media’s saving grace. There might be one or two network news executives who finally come out and admit that Fox News has the right formula. Fox News executives might go back to the basics which made them so successful. This time they could change their slogan to, Fair and Honest.

I was astounded to read that the NBC evening news regularly has 9 million viewers, although another FReeper postulated that most are in senior nursing homes.

In any event, there were enough to re-elect Caliph Baraq in 2012.
