Pope Francis has decried the “inhuman” conditions facing migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border and has encouraged communities there not to judge people by stereotypes but welcome migrants and work to end discrimination.

Francis made the appeal in a letter to a Jesuit priest who helps organize Catholic teens in Nogales, Arizona, to support the Kino Border Initiative, which advocates a more humane solution to migration. The letter was dated Dec. 19 but was made public on Kino’s website recently. […]

Francis has made migration one of the priorities of his pontificate and will likely raise the issue when he visits the U.S. in September. On Thursday, U.S. officials confirmed he would address Congress on Sept. 24, the first pope to do so. …

whats funny is he doesn’t condemn mexico for it’s far, far worse treatment of illegals in their country. and what they do to them. any citizens can arrest them and usually beat them up. then the cops beat them up and take their money. then they are put on non-air conditioned buses and driven hundreds of miles south of mexico and told if they come back they’ll be killed.

Mexicans are prepared to crawl over broken glass to get out of Mexico.

Hondurans, likewise, prepared to go to great lengths to get out of Honduras.

And so on down the line. The pope should not be so quick to throw stones.

Pope Francis has kept a very low profile while thousands of Christian are been slaughtered daily by Islamic terrorist.

Good point. Its bizarre to hear him criticize the country catholics are fleeing to, and remain silent on the Christians who are being slaughtered on his watch.

Papal Infallibility is untouched by all the foolish things Bergoglio says.

Papal Infallibility has nothing to do with any of the Pope’s opinions, or his statements in the back of planes, or his acts of governance, or his imprudence, or personal sins. It has to do only with formal declarations concerning the content of the faith or morals, when the Pope proposes these for belief by the entire Church.

The Pope can yak all he wants to reporters, and do all the stupid, imprudent things he wants in governing the Church, without undermining any AUTHENTIC understanding of the concept of Papal Infallibility.

There are many things I find admirable about this man. But when it comes to economic and social issues he is just brain addled by South American leftism and crypto Communist Liberation Theology.

I didn’t know the Aztecs founded Mexico in 1824, are you sure of that?

Yes Mexico is and always has been Catholic, and it has always been a hell-hole.

The first Pope of my lifetime who is truly either a fifth columnist, or an outright bum.

“It’s so inhuman to feed them, clothe them, house them, delouse them, and medicate them”

there was an addage that was adhered to:
“It’s cruel to be kind.”

I do not enjoy, nor advocate, nor espouse, the idea of any illegal invaders within my country, of any size, nationality, breeding stock, or those that swish.

clean them out of the country, on their own feet, or in boxes, i don’t care.

Then YOU take care of them, Obama.

Sometimes I think this pope is a hostile figure, completely opposed to this country’s continued existence.

Well, everywhere on earth was a hell-hole in 1824, by our standards. I mean, was the White House air-conditioned in 1824?

No question, the English colonies in America, Australia, Canada, and elsewhere, have enjoyed a level of liberty and prosperity unmatched by any colonies of Spain, Portugal, or France that I can think of.

So?

What a jerk, he has no right to criticize our country. He should keep his socialized ideas to himself.
