Jordan hangs two terrorists in response to ISIS atrocities. What will Obama do?

Now we’re talking.

After the unspeakable act of burning a Jordanian pilot alive was revealed this week, the people of Jordan rose up with the exact type of indignation and outrage which seems to be missing from the response in Washington. Last night two terrorists were hanged in reply to the actions of the terrorists.

Jordan executed two Al Qaeda prisoners early Wednesday in response to a graphic video released by the ISIS terror group that showed a captured Jordanian pilot being burned alive in a cage.

The release of the video sparked outrage and anti-ISIS demonstrations in Jordan, while Syrian activists reported that the terrorists gleefully played the grisly footage on big-screen televisions in their de facto capital, Raqqa.

Government spokesman Mohammed al-Momani confirmed to the Associated Press that Jordan had executed Sajida al-Rishawi and Ziad al-Karbouly, two Iraqis linked to Al Qaeda. Another official told the AP that both prisoners had been hanged. The executions took place at Swaqa prison about 50 miles south of the Jordanian capital of Amman. At sunrise, two ambulances carrying the bodies of al-Rishawi and al-Karbouly drove away from the prison with security escorts.

As you may recall, Jordan had been discussing releasing al Rishawi in a trade for the pilot. We later found out that the ISIS negotiators had been lying all along and the pilot had been dead for nearly a month.

Obviously, some will say that this has no effect on ISIS because they don’t care if their own people die. They will just write them off as martyrs to the cause. Well, just to go on the record here, I don’t care either. We should be executing these monsters wherever they are found. But that’s not going to have any long term effect on the battle.

The President’s response to the burning of Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh was completely inadequate.

[The killing] will redouble the vigilance and determination on the part of a global coalition to make sure that they are degraded and ultimately defeated. It also indicates the degree to which, whatever ideology they’re operating under, it’s bankrupt,” said Obama.

Sorry to say, but this is not the time for talk of making sure that the terrorists are degraded and ultimately defeated, Mr. President. This is the time to seize the initiative. The world – including those always most prone to stay on the sidelines – is experiencing a moment of outrage and you need to seize on it. Jordan is rushing out captives to hang them in the public square. Even the Japanese (!) are vowing action and revenge. This is the moment, and it calls for a stand reminiscent of George H. W. Bush at the dawn of the first Gulf War. Call for a tally of all of our allies and those who waver to declare who is on our side and who is on the side of the monsters. Go back into Iraq and into Syria. I know that you ran two campaigns on the promise that we would not have “boots on the ground” over there, but you will be forgiven in light of world events. And you won’t have to “go it alone.” The nations of the world will send their troops to march, including even some Arab states. The time is now, but the moment will slip away if we let it.

Unfortunately, I don’t believe that Barack Obama or his advisers will listen to this advice. The world is ready to go and an army could be led onto the field in Iraq and Syria in numbers which haven’t been seen in a generation. ISIS claims they want a fight with the west. This is the moment when a true leader could show them (and Iran, North Korea and the rest of the world) that you should be careful what you wish for. In this case I hope that Barack Obama proves me wrongs and steps up to lead. If he does, I’ll be behind him.

But they hanged Al-Qaeda members. Those are not the same as ISIL/ISIS. It’s a good start, but this thing has to be thought out.

I think that Jordan should announce that defectors and surrendering ISIL/ISIS people will be accepted for a week, but after that, no quarter.

And we should do the same thing. I am sick of the dumb Rear Admiral who speaks for the military now, on behalf of the Obama people. What does a Rear Admiral know about a desert, anyway?

Enough of the “boots on the ground” and the various puerile sports-analogies. This is not a child’s game. It is time to get serious. Do they think sandals on the ground will do better?

I think that it would be fine to have a formal declaration of war. I was amazed and pleased last night to hear Krauthammer make the same suggestion. I would like independent declarations of war against ISIL/ISIS from Japan, Jordan, and others, on their own, with coordination, but no grand (supposedly US-led) “coalitions,” please.

To often we lead, and certain so-called allies pretend support, and then everyone treats the US as a pariah for helping them.

Right now, all our friends are being undercut by Obama. He is secretly trying to destroy the Egyptians, and control the results of the Israeli election. His buddies are actually working with the opposition to Netanyahu. Obama might as well be a terrorist enabler.

It means that we also have work to do at home, short-circuting the creeps in the 0 administration wherever possible.

Whatever ideology??? Get a freaking clue you dumb bastid. The "ideology" is Islam. It's extreme Muslim fanaticism. It's your "Religion of Peace" on steroids.

How do you re-double nothing?

”He will go play golf!!!”

Let 0 play as much golf as he wants, and take Biden and the rest with him. The more golf he plays, the less likely he is to be doing harm. I wish that he would play golf forever! That is how kind-hearted I am.

Problem solved. Send Gitmo detainess to Jordan, grant Cuba statehood.

Classic win-win. Win.

Obama’s reaction to the murder of the Jordanian pilot: [The killing] “will redouble the vigilance and determination on the part of a global coalition to make sure that they are degraded and ultimately defeated. It also indicates the degree to which, whatever ideology they’re operating under, it’s bankrupt,” said Obama.” Bankrupt? Whatever ideology? NOTHING can force him to admit that terrorist Muslims are evil incarnates of Satan walking the earth. It is clear by now that this President who says that 99.9% of Muslims are peaceful is either a liar, stupid or deliberating covering for their actions. Or all of the above.

“”To bad the two terrorist didn’t have to suffer like the Jordanian Pilot did””

Absolutely.... If we had the equal of FDR, Eisenhower, MacArthur, Bradley, Patton AND TRUMAN in place now, we could have had an end to this last year. I would prefer Truman right now....

King Abdullah will get as many as he can and then probably their families.

Oh, and he did a cameo on Voyager. Big Star Trek fan.

Boots on the ground is an extreme overreaction here. The nuclear option has many better advantages.

EVERYTHING obama does either:

a) Weakens America/Americans
b) Distances America's allies
c) Strengthens America's enemies
d) Serves Islam
e) Harms Israel
Or some combination of the above.
There are no counter examples.

Not to take issue with Jordan’s response here, but it seems to me that executing a failed suicide bomber might rank at the top of the list of the most pointless and ineffective steps ever taken.

I say commit sortie after sortie, perhaps over a 24 hour period, of non-stop carpet bombing of Raqqa. Lay waste to the entire city, leaving not even two bricks standing together. Then we send in ground troops, perhaps 50,000, and make sure there is not one living thing. Not even a weed.

Erase it from the planet. Literally.

Agreed. Those beasts were prepared to die anyway. What they aren't prepared for is dying like the poor pilot did.

Burn for burn and stripe for stripe would be a better response.

The Jordanians should have very publicly dumped the bodies of these POS into a pile of hog turds or fed them to pigs.

For every terrorist hung by Jordan, Obola will release two Gitmo residents directly to IS.
