I would hope God makes exceptions, and I have said a prayer asking for such, for this brave young man.

On another note, I happened to find something in Wikipedia, while I was researching the Jordanian Air Force’ capabilities. I have not seen this in news articles:

Apparently, U.S. special forces attempted on Jan. 1 to rescue Lt. al-Kasasbeh, but the US’ helicopters were driven off by heavy fire from ISIS.
