Every single “conservative” has said they’re open to reform and open borders.
We need somebody with the balls to shut the border down, build a wall lined with landmines, and is ready to deport 35 million back to their 3rd world homes.
Until then....I won’t hold my breath for Walker or any other RINO fake.
To: Maceman
Is it likely that President Walker would grant amnesty via Executive Order?

While I LOVE My Gov (and I wish he’d stay - the consequences of him leaving Wisconsin are DIRE for us!), I’m not ready to vote for anyone quite yet. No one should be! Yeesh!
However, I will never, EVER vote for Jeb, due to the MURDER (yes, it was MURDER by starvation and dehydration!) of Terri Schaivo.
Never forget!

build a wall lined with landmines... With pathways leading to these fairly frequently:

He’d better not be!
What, is the GOPe getting to all the talk show hosts early?
I trust Laura Ingraham hasn’t fallen for Walker?
To: Maceman
Not one candidate will ever meet the criteria that would make most freepers happy. I’d bet that today even Reagan would be called a RINO because of some slight departure from perfect conservatism.

Just to be safe, we should probably focus a lot of attention on electing more Tea Partiers into The House and Senate.

Executive amnesty would be completely irrelevant if Walker were president, because the GOP in Congress would feel compelled to back him.
Walker is beyond dangerous for the sovereignty of the country.

Who cares, he has one vote just like everyone elseYes, but many, many more people value his opinion than yours, and so he has a lot influence and can sway a lot of voters -- unlike you (or me).

He’s still for open borders....
To: Texas Eagle
That is not the question. Will he remove executive amnesty using executive order?

I heard Levin yesterday and was dismayed. Walker is my choice from the landscape I am seeing now.
So, what do others see? Allen West? Dr. Ben Carson? Tom Tancredo? Duncan Hunter? I guess these are all pure on the border issue; but where are they headed, presidential campaign-wise? Even my own beloved favorite, Sarah Palin; what’s her prospectus look like?
Whom am I missing?
Walker CAN win (both the nomination and the general), and WILL be able to govern — acceptably for the most part.
Pipe dreams of purity abound, but reality alone will be all that matters in the end.

I thought I was ready to support Walker, was a bit elated, in fact, when he did so well in those polls, but I had not heard the clips Mr. Levin played last night. Walker can't do it. I knew he had been ambivalent on immigration, but so had Reagan been ambivalent- even pro- abortion until he began his run for the White House. Then he determined that the people who are the backbone of the country were against abortion and it was not something that could reasonably inferred from the Constitution so he changed his position forthrightly. He was clear that he politically and Constitutionally opposed mandating legalization. He kept his word as Reagan was wont to do. That clip of Walker showed him to be mnealy mouthed and should he do a conversion a la Reagan I am not sure I could believe him. The Presidency is immensely more powerful now than it was 15 years ago. It is too tempting for a Walker to get the job then just impose things like that by fiat. It can be done now. We have to have another Reagan or there is no hope in the government as it now functions. We are past the Republic phase. Now we have to pray for a Wise and Benevolent King. Now we have to support the Convention of the States. That, I fear will be no more successful than anything else at restoring the Republic simply because I don't believe the Federal Government will allow it to occur. However, If the requirements are met and the Convention is called it will provoke a true crisis, an existential one. If there are no Men left in the country then the takeover will be complete and the government will perhaps even remake the Constitution to suit the government a la Venezuela. The Constitution will become a meaningless thing revised by the Bureaucracy from time to time to suit its immediate needs.
If there are sufficient men then the natural leaders will come forth at the moment the Government moves against the States and we will have that CW2.
