More bumbling government from The Dark Continent. I’m happy I have limited need to trips make inside the Perimeter these days. Now, if we could just cut Alpharetta and Johns Creek loose from supporting the Grady Gunshot & Knife Wound Center and the rest of dysfunctional Fulton County....
Spent a night once in Bucksnort.
Neat name, "Bucksnort."
In ATL, one little incident jams up traffic all the way to the outside of 285, the bypass.
Probably a job.
When I was a boy I particularly loved the name Bucksnort. There have a “trout ranch” there that always fascinated me. In high school I played in a football game there once. We met a team from Nashville for a scrimmage. That was the only time I was ever in a game that had to be stopped to remove rocks from the field.
The bomb squad blew it up real good a little while ago.
Last time I was through was in the 80’s. Now I drive waaaaaaay around anything resembling Atlanta.
It’s pretty much good advice at all times for motorists to avoid downtown Atlanta!
CPS Dept isn’t going to like that...
We drive through Atlanta about twice a yr going
to Clearwater as well.Uncle and aunt live at Top
of the World Condo.
Worse traffic by far than Indy,Louisville or Nashville
that we are kinda used to.
Forty plus years ago I enjoyed going to downtown Atlanta but I doubt that I shall ever do so again, I am sure it is nothing like it was then.
Did you ever go to Atlanta Underground when it was a neat place to take a date? I remember Lester Maddox autographing ax handles there. Whole place was safe.
That was indeed more than forty years ago. Before the time came that we all knew what MARTA really stands for.
TY!
I'm originally from this part of TN, but after 30 years being away it's taking me a *LOT* of acclimation. The people here are very fine, however, the weather is a far call from that I enjoyed for 30 years in FL.
I relocated here because, after visiting a couple of years ago, I realized that if any group of people could survive the next Great Depression if was those in this region.
As best I can tell there are only two things people do around here.... 1) Hunt deer, 2) Process deer. When new babies are brought home from the hospital they are more often than not brought home wrapped in camo.
2 AM it is usually pretty empty in the middle of the night.
A friend said it was the art project of a student at SCAD, something with a high speed camera to record traffic.
Well yes, I’m sure it isn’t bad then. But these older people need to be in ed at that time of the day. We can’t drive all night like we used to.
Beat me to it. Welcome to the Jungle.
I went to Underground Atlanta in 1970, it was a great place to spend an evening back then.
