More: June 2008 US designates two Hezbollah operatives in Venezuela as terrorists - "The US Treasury Department has added two Venezuelans to the list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists for their support of Hezbollah. Ghazi Nasr al Din, a Venezuelan diplomat, and Fawzi Kan'an, a businessman, both provide support for the Lebanese-based terror group.

Ghazi Nasr al Din was born in Lebanon who currently serves as a Venezuelan diplomat and the president of a Shia Islamic center. "Nasr al Din served until recently as Charge d' Affaires at the Venezuelan Embassy in Damascus, Syria, and was subsequently appointed the Director of Political Aspects at the Venezuelan Embassy in Lebanon," the US Treasury reported in a press release.

Nasr al Din used his diplomatic cover to meet with senior Hezbollah leaders in Lebanon and fundraise for the terror group. "Nasr al Din has counseled Hezbollah donors on fundraising efforts and has provided donors with specific information on bank accounts where the donors' deposits would go directly to Hezbollah." He also helped Hezbollah operatives get to Iran to "attend a training course."

Fawzi Kan'an is businessman who runs two Venezuela-based travel agencies. He was born in Lebanon but is a naturalized Venezuelan.

Kan'an is described as "a significant provider of financial support to Hezbollah" who also uses his business to funnel money to Lebanon and assist in the movement of operatives.

Treasury also implicates Kan'an as an operational planner who may have plotted kidnappings and terror attacks. "Kan'an has also traveled with other Hezbollah members to Iran for training," Treasury stated.

If he’s a terrorist the first place to look is to see if he’s employed by the current administration.

“5 foot 7 and weighs about 175 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and an olive complexion.”

That description narrows it down in South Florida. Some time back, my son had business in Detroit. The party meeting him at Metro said “Ill be the black guy with the Michigan sweatshirt on”

Most likely he can be found about 3 blocks south of the U.S. Capitol at 453 New Jersey Avenue, SE Washington, DC 20003; CAIR’s headquarters. If he’s not there, they will know where he’s at.

> Fawzi Kan’an is businessman who runs two Venezuela-based travel agencies

Must be an agent for his government. Travel agencies have been used as cover for both foreign and domestic spy agencies for years. Used for many reasons but mainly to get access to itineraries and passenger lists / info. Same with shipping agents and other “international consultants”.

The embassy and the travel agency connection seals the deal for me. He’s a spook for his government but branded as a terrorist (by us).

Who knows what’s up since....

US Treasury freezes assets of Venezuelan diplomat for helping Hezbullah

http://israelmatzav.blogspot.com/2008/06/us-treasury-freezes-assets-of.html

“The United States Department of the Treasury announced on Wednesday that it is freezing the assets of Venezuelan diplomat Ghazi Nasr al Din, whom it described as “providing safe harbor to Hizballah facilitators and fundraisers.” The Department also froze the assets of a second Venezuelan, Fawzi Kan’an, and those of two travel agencies controlled by Kan’an.”.......................

.... Ghazi Nasr al Din is a Venezuela-based Hizballah supporter who has utilized his position as a Venezuelan diplomat and the president of a Caracas-based Shi’a Islamic Center to provide financial support to Hizballah. Nasr al Din served until recently as Charge d’ Affaires at the Venezuelan Embassy in Damascus, Syria, and was subsequently appointed the Director of Political Aspects at the Venezuelan Embassy in Lebanon.

Nasr al Din has counseled Hizballah donors on fundraising efforts and has provided donors with specific information on bank accounts where the donors’ deposits would go directly to Hizballah.

Ghazi Nasr al Din has met with senior Hizballah officials in Lebanon to discuss operational issues, as well as facilitated the travel of Hizballah members to and from Venezuela. In late January 2006, Nasr al Din facilitated the travel of two Hizballah representatives to the Lebanese Parliament to Caracas to solicit donations for Hizballah and to announce the opening of a Hizballah-sponsored community center and office in Venezuela. The previous year, Nasr al Din arranged the travel of Hizballah members to attend a training course in Iran.

...

Fawzi Kan’an is a Venezuela-based Hizballah supporter and a significant provider of financial support to Hizballah. Kan’an has facilitated travel for Hizballah members and sent money raised in Venezuela to Hizballah officials in Lebanon.

Kan’an has met with senior Hizballah officials in Lebanon to discuss operational issues, including possible kidnappings and terrorist attacks. Further, Kan’an has also traveled with other Hizballah members to Iran for training.

According to the Treasury, the two travel agencies have been used to courier funds to Lebanon..................

Is Hezbollah an armed insurgency, a militant group, or a radical terror group?

Since the Obama Administration wants to split hairs on these things, it is important that we are clear in our understanding of the urgency.

I’ll put it this way ... I have three business cards from spooks I kept over the years; one was a “travel agent”; another, a furniture salesman who allegedly received his furniture from overseas; the last one, an “international consultant”.

Diplomat is synonymous with the term, “spy”, in many countries and being employed by an embassy is often cover for spies for government agencies. The guy is clearly a spook. I bet he has military service lurking in his background as well.

Link to Breitbart’s national security article about this guy.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3252861/posts

“......Nasr al Din’s involvement with Hezbollah highlights the continuation of that bilateral tie in the aftermath of Chávez’s death. His successor, Nicolás Maduro, has worked to keep those ties strong with Ahmadinejad’s successor, Hassan Rouhani, engaging in both visits to Iran and meetings together during the United Nations General Assembly summits. Maduro, who faces an even more dire economic situation than under Chávez, appears intent upon using his ties with Iran to help bolster trade and cement alliances that serve as a detriment to the national interests of the United States, the “imbecile imperialists” he has accused time and again of waging “economic war” against his country.”
