They lie because the truth doesn’t make them look like persecuted victims, because they’re not persecuted victims. What they are is Homo Nazis, and far from being persecuted victims, they are the persecutors.
I never believed that he asked for that wording, either. Any halfway intelligent person would know that that would just be giving the sodomites what they want, the real appearance of persecution. Not that it takes much for them to assume that stance, just the existence of Bible-believeing Christians makes them call themselves “persecuted”. hence, the Christian baker not only being forced to bake the sodomite cake, but being forced to go to re-education camp to have his beliefs regarding sodomy as a sin be changed. I’d bet no matter what happens in this case, the homo baker won’t be sent to any place to have their “unacceptable” views changed. (Fortunately, the Christian baker is fighting being sent to re-education camp, if he loses, it will be a lot bigger of a story than the media is going to allow).
Because the first report to make the news is the one that sticks in people’s minds. E.g., “hands up, don’t shoot.” The truth will not generate the desired sympathy/outrage.
But it would still be okay for the baker to make the cake, wouldn’t it?
