Tim Cook Defused Steve Jobs' Thermonuclear War, Then He Took Down Android
Forbes ^ | Saturday, January 31, 2015 | Evan Spence

I’ve already spoken about one of the plays made by Apple and Tim Cook to damage Android. This was the push to 64-bit computing in the iPhone 5S. As that smartphone was announced, the roadmaps for Android devices did not have 64-bit computing planned in the near future. Manufacturers and component suppliers were bounced into making bold claims that they would join Apple in the 64-bit world.

They had no choice but to do this. Android’s success was built around the promise of being faster, better, and stronger than its rival OS. If Apple was 64-bit, Android had to be 64-bit as well. Promises were made, plans were changed, and the rush to 64-bit comp

The impact of that push remain to this day. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 was the chipset expected to lead the charge, but production issues have forced manufacturers to delay products into Q3 2015, or choose alternative chips with the resulting compatibility problems of running third-party Android applications.

Apple weakened the chipsets in Android by forcing the manufacturers to follow them on the 64-bit roadmap. Resources, time, and developmental energies were directed away from competing directly with Apple and into something that has taken far longer than planned.

What keeps driving you to come back to these threads. I avoid any thread whose su Brecht line irritates me.

I saves a lot of wayward blood pressure.

That’s a tactic by the Apple-haters ... they’ll equate Apple and its customers to Islamic Terrorists, Obama, Nazis, Stalinists, Leninists, Liberals, Homosexuals ... and you name it. It doesn’t have to relate or have any correlation ... they just throw it out there to try and poison things.

Such is the way of Apple-Haters!

I guess it's the same thing that drives me to go after email spammers, instead of "just hitting Delete" like they say I should do instead.

Do you go on all threads you disagree with on FR also?

Some Apple-haters just can’t help themselves and they come back over and over again ... exclusively for the purpose of letting everyone know that they hate Apple, and then INSISTING that everyone else must hate Apple just as they do ... LOL ...

Once in a long while there is someone who comes on here saying they will not visit these threads any longer (just like one poster did above) because they don’t agree with it. At least those kinds of posters are being honest ... AND ... they are NOT DERANGED, like these Apple-haters are.

No, the same way I can't go after every spammer. Nobody has that much time.

Obviously the board OWNER doesn’t think it’s SPAM, contrary to your view. I would say you’re OUT OF TOUCH with the ownership of this board.

Why don’t you go and form your own forum so you can DELETE THE SPAM yourself ... LOL ...

I used to be very involved in the Los Angeles Macintosh Group. We were pretty big at one point. But it was afun place to interact and meet people here in LA.

It was always fun to talk to other .mac people to ask how they dealt with a problem or what stores to go to.

But the idea of me going to a PCGroup never occupied to me ... That’s what they are doing.

Why don't you just ban my account if you don't like what I have to say?

I was a member of PMUG, Portland Mac Users Group, which used to be very popular and active. They are still there in Portland (although I’m not in Portland now). Those groups are not as popular any more, especially with the popularity of the “web” just starting up in the mid-90s.

It was a great group of people to be around.

I also taught classes for the Senior Citizens Center for those seniors who were just getting their first computers, which were iMacs, at the time. It was a joy to teach them, as the Mac OS was so intuitive and made things so much easier in teaching them!

You definitely deserve to be deleted on these threads, but I’m not the owner ... and ... as I said, the owner doesn’t have the same twisted and weird ideas that you do ... :-) ...

I am on the Cat group here on FR ... And the Dog group as well.

I’m sure you love cats and dogs. But, if you didn’t would you come on to talk us out of liking them?

There are Android, Samsung and other threads on FR. Some of which I see you on. I read them but never participate.

Are those other phone threads spam? Let’s see your double standard. It’t raging now!

They are both unix based operating systems. Android is linux with a lot of java on top. Apple is a form of freebsd with objective C or swift on top.

Bwaaaaaahahahahahahaha.

No he doesn’t have to like Apple (which I never say everyone has to) ... he just knows it’s not spam to be deleted ... and he knows that there are FReepers who have a wide-variety of tastes, even while being conservatives.

That’s why we have a good person (and owner) running this forum and I’m glad to be part of it ... even with a certain number of Apple-hater Freepers being around.
