As name recognition can easily be built, based on that chart Carson, and Cruz Might be the best canadits.

Althou I think Perry might be the best at doing the actual job.

I’ve learned not to trust anyone, Republican or otherwise, on the immigration issue.

Thats why I don’t want to discuss what happens after we secure the border until we secure the border. They want to get us into the weeds and I’m not willing to go there with them. They want a “comprehensive” policy that means they never really get around to securing the border.

So, for me its best to keep it simple. Secure the border. Enforce the law. Let the chips fall.

Do that and over time the problem corrects itself. Fail to do that and you can’t be trusted with the levers of power anyway.

Ask 100 people what the Tea Party is and you’d get 100 different answers. There will be influence from conservative groups but the notion that there even *is* a “tea party” is laughable.

He had a republican State legislator given to him by a state so so economically strangled by decades by corrupt union policy that the stage was set.

He had a two vote senate margin, and at least one guy who was constantly threatening to bolt (Schulz, who defected on important votes later). Numerous state senators were also set up for recall, with a couple going down (at least one through mucho fraud in Eau Claire), over 500,000 signatures were collected for Walker's own recall (in a state of 5 million). This was more than "a lot of noise".

After the election, the union thugs were confident of their position and held out for a better deal, thinking they could roll Walker. When they weren't bargaining in good faith, Walker knew they had to be brought down. Tommy Thompson would not have been able to get this pulled off. This was as much a result of Walker making his case, and keeping iron discipline. It also showed that Walker had forced good discipline with his legislature.

I wouldn't say that Walker is "for amnesty", but he definitely leans closer to Rubio's (present) position than Santorum's or Cruz'. It is not one of his core themes, at least not for him as governor, so I think he is likely to improve the position in a national campaign, but not as much as we all would like.

I think it is fair to say, "I think that illegal immigration is our biggest problem, and I will support Cruz based on that." Another could say "I think we need executive experience and someone fully vetted who embraces a general conservative philosophy, and I support Walker." Another could say "The RINOS are in the way of fixing our problems, nominating Cruz will force a rupture and get better replacements for the defectors". And another "We cannot afford to have either HRC or a RINO. Walker is not perfect, but he will stall the rupture of the party, and maybe move some people in the right direction."

I have felt both of those last sentiments.

One nice thing about the Act 10 show in Wisconsin: it didn't keep Walker from passing voter ID, Concealed Carry (last state to do it through law), defunding Planned Parenthood, tax rebates from the surplus, and moving forward on bringing iron mining back to Wisconsin. Not all these issues got so much play because of all the noise from Act 10 and the side shows (including a Dem Supreme Court justice charging at a Rep judge, who stuck his arms out to stop her from charging him. The WI press story? "Prosser chokes female justice." It is a different reality.

I would be thrilled to have either Walker or Cruz as a nominee, and will defend either against what I think are unfair attacks.

These are Prokop’s stated likely TEA Party choices-

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Possible candidates who will court the support of this wing of the party include Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Mike Pence.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Of those, I can (as of now) support Cruz, Walker, Jindal. The rest are very iffy for me. This can change.

“Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum could win Christian right support”

If those people do that, I will seriously become an atheist.

Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum could win Christian right support

Only from fawning idiots who abdicate reason to their syrupy and useless aphorisms...

Rand Paul? Candy Bar/Nutz=crazy...

The vast number of candidates will make coordination difficult
These are the early announcers and most have zero chance, no message that will resonate above the others and will drop out before January 2016

Immigration is a fraught issue ::: Huh? It’s pretty straight forward for the rest of us...

Tea Party conservatives may not agree on who is electable ::: Oh don’t worry, that person will appear and will be compelling...

-—You have absolutely NO IDEA of the ferocity of the resistance to those reforms there were in Wisconsin.

Second this statement. Until you have been surrounded by TENS of THOUSANDS of angry union activists and communist fellow travelers carrying ‘Walker is a Nazi posters you can’t appreciate what Walker and we supporters faced. He and all the Republican legislators got death threats, his kids were stalked. It was a leftist attempted coup and parts of our family still are not speaking. ‘Ready for reform’, sure.

As for immigration, our biggest problem is with Illinoisans.
