The Romney Statement: Not Running. "I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party...."

I’ve been emailed this text of remarks Mitt Romney will be making to his supporters shortly:

Let me begin by letting you know who else is on this call, besides Ann and me. There are a large number of people who signed on to be leaders of our 2016 finance effort. In addition, state political leadership from several of the early primary states are on the line. And here in New York City, and on the phone, are people who have been helping me think through how to build a new team, as well as supporters from the past who have all been kind enough to volunteer their time during this deliberation stage. Welcome, and thank you. Your loyalty and friendship, and your desire to see the country with new, competent and conservative leadership warms my heart.

After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee.

And you can see people will nit-pick walker over amnesty and ignore the fact that he wants to secure the border FIRST. If we get that then we can talk about amnesty and what “back of the line” means.

Lol. That one has always bothered me, too.

CommieCore at it’s finest.

We have lots of (freeloading) boarders, pouring into our open Southern border.

Hopefully those two other has-beens, Nanny Huckabee and King Jeb Bush III, get the message and drop out too.

Jeb will meet with Christie too,

Won't have to. Mitt is having dinner with Christie tonight so that he can pass him the memo.

Amnesty pimps need not apply!!

Amen! Even Rush had to address this (Walker’s amnesty stance), yesterday. Rush has a man crush for Walker, right now. He pretty much said that we’re not going to find a perfect candidate. That Walker’s many strengths far outweigh his (one?) weakness.

I’m shocked. I thought that he was supposed to be a conservative.

It’s still Ted Cruz for me.

Going to back Jeb.

The GOPe is very smart. They will field only ONE candidate. Then the several conservative candidates will divided votes and lose. Watch CHristy drop out next and clear the path for Jeb Bush.

Repeat 2012. Rinse and repeat. Conservatives have no unity. They will not unite behind one candidate. Which is why they will not win in 2016.

Sadly, I believe what you say is true. Bush is my least favored candidate and I just bet he will be the nominee. At least what Romney said is correct, we need new blood as a nominee if we want to win.

” Amen! Even Rush had to address this (Walker’s amnesty stance), yesterday. Rush has a man crush for Walker, right now. He pretty much said that we’re not going to find a perfect candidate.”

Rush had to backpedal, because he probably got 10,000 people angrily e mailing him to do so. Rush is not often wrong, and he hates to admit when he is, so it was a weak backpedal.

Walker is pro-amnesty which negates ALL other positions.

Sorry to hear that, Rick Perry talks out of both sides of his mouth on immigration and amnesty too.

That leaves Cruz as the only candidate who is solidly reliable on the issue.

“Scott Walker backs path to citizenship, increased immigration”

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/07/03/scott-walker-backs-path-to-citizenship-increased-immigration/

I've been reading murmurs about Scott Walker being squishy on illegal immigration, but that's the first time I've seen a link to an article that verifies it.

In my opinion, any attempt by Walker to backpedal on those statements, would be insincere, and only meant to calm down angry conservative voters.

Darn shame that he holds those views, because it's a complete deal breaker for most of us. I won't vote for anyone who's on board with throwing the doors open to a third world invasion of our country.

What this country actually needs, is a twenty-five year moratorium on ALL immigration. We've already got tens of millions here who haven't assimilated, and who are busy creating foreign countries within our midst. If that's allowed to continue, our America will be diluted into nothingness.

Yes, and as soon as he announces that he is running, I’m going to begin sending him some financial support as well.
