The Romney Statement: Not Running. "I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party...."

I’ve been emailed this text of remarks Mitt Romney will be making to his supporters shortly:

Let me begin by letting you know who else is on this call, besides Ann and me. There are a large number of people who signed on to be leaders of our 2016 finance effort. In addition, state political leadership from several of the early primary states are on the line. And here in New York City, and on the phone, are people who have been helping me think through how to build a new team, as well as supporters from the past who have all been kind enough to volunteer their time during this deliberation stage. Welcome, and thank you. Your loyalty and friendship, and your desire to see the country with new, competent and conservative leadership warms my heart.

After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee.

Well, Romney and Bush had a big pow-wow last week that was reported in the media. It probably went something like this:

Bush: But Mitt, if you again, it will be really obvious that we don’t want to win.
Romney: You’re right Jeb, you’d better take the loss this time.

We need Chris Christie to get in to nullify and split the jeb liberal voters.

So what

Romney doesn't have much of a backing and if he combines his force(s) with the shrub, they'll make up a platoon .... feh.

Mixed feelings. I don’t want that Lefty, pro-abortion, anti-gun, inventor of Obamacare anywhere near the GOP nomination.

On the other hand, I was hoping that if he and his fellow RINO, Jeb Bush both ran, they would split the RINO vote allowing a Conservative to win the nomination.

He did say that once before though. I would have liked him in a little longer, draining RINO money and support.

That would be helpful. We also need all real Conservatives to get behind a single, Conservative candidate EARLY, even if he/she isn’t our first choice.

How the hell do the Bushes always seem to be able to clear the field? What could Romney have been promised or threatened with?

Probably the same thing he was promised or threatened with to throw the 2012 election to Obama.

You got it! Although I would love to see Cruz and or maybe Paul run, we need them in the Senate. I would sooner someone like Walker and another good conservative run with him..although Walker has some problems with Immigration, I would see him working with the legislature in working on a legit immigration solution.

Time for Tea party folks and conservatives to get together and hammer out the long range plans out to derail the establishment candidates.

This is going to be expensive.

I guess, come hell or high water, the end result is going to be amnesty. Not sure I will vote at all if Cruz doesn’t get in.
