[Obama].The statement said the automatic spending cuts, known in Washington as "sequestration," had hurt the U.S. economy and its military. Obama, the White House said, will seek to "fully reverse" cuts in domestic spending while providing equal spending boosts for military and national security programs.

Sequestration was OBAMA'S plan!

None other than NBC’s David Gregory today pressed Obama’s chief economic advisor, Gene Sperling, whether his boss told the truth in the third presidential debate that “the sequester is not something that I’ve proposed. It is something that Congress has proposed.” Sperling finally wilted under the pressure of tough questioning to admit that “yes, in fact, the sequestration was President Obama’s plan.”

Sperling actually admitted nothing new as I chronicled in my With the Sequester, President Obama Argues With President Obama. Jack Lew, in his confirmation hearings, conceded on February 13 that the sequester originated in the White House. On Tuesday February 19, press spokesman Jay Carney admitted “The sequester was something that was discussed… and as has been reported, it was an idea that the White House put forward.”

The sequester is across the board

Congress can now come back and fund parts of the sequester and leave other parts unfunded. The sequester takes funds from the military and the congress restores all or part with new appropriations

Obama can do or say anything he wants. There are no longer checks and balances in effect in our government.

The only austerity ever considered and implemented was military spending cuts. If the austerity had been spread around like it was supposed to be (you know, cutbacks on entitlements and such), then the economy would’ve had a little more breathing room along with the taxpayer pulling the cart full of leeches.

Sure, the economy is only ever hurt when it advances his agenda (just like every other paradox we run into with this feckless buffoon)...

He will propose a 7% spending increase. The Republicans will give him 5% and then crow about their “win”.

I love the sequester and if we do it right this time, all America will as well. Let’s get rid of the deficit and then pile into the debt.

“Mindless austerity” is a greater oxymoron than “Civil War” or “Jumbo Shrimp”

What happened to his “scalpel” with which he was going to dissect the federal budget? Must have gotten rusty.
