American Sniper is tops at the box office but don’t expect to see former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura lining up at a theater for it.
Ventura, a former Navy SEAL, won $1.8 million in a defamation lawsuit last year against the estate of the late Chris Kyle, the SEAL protagonist of the movie, which has sparked debate over whether snipers should be considered heroes. Ventura said Wednesday he won’t see the film partly because Kyle is no hero to him.
"A hero must be honorable, must have honor. And you can’t have honor if you’re a liar. There is no honor in lying," Ventura told The Associated Press from his winter home in Baja California, Mexico. He also noted that the movie isn’t playing there.

As a campaign issue, the leg about freedom and liberty was number one, the leg concerning the Soviet Union and national defense was number 2, and the social conservatism leg was clearly 3.

Not sure why you sent that to me, however, I assume it has something to do with the law suit. Someone mentioned an appeal, but I have not heard anything about an appeal being filed.

I don’t want to get into any deep discussion on what the scripture tells us because I am no means a Bible scholar I was giving my observation of the scriptures and that would include that Jesus sold Peter to put away his sword because it was not the time to defend Jesus. There were only UDT in WWII, but no SEALs, who were created in 1962 and we had SEALs and UDT simultaneously for 20 years, until 1982 when UDT was ended and most UDT went into the SEALs (after getting additional training to make the SEALs.
While the SEALs trace their lineage to UDT, I think it would be misleading and confusing to now start calling the WWII and pre-1960s UDT, "SEALs" although now UDT and SEALs have been melded into one, it would be similar to calling WWII OSS Army Special Forces, or "Green Berets".

You’re right. He was UDT, not SEAL. Don’t know why the press never called him out on that.
