I just looked it up. He died in 1957 while there were still two others alive but they both turned out to be imposters.
Some guy claimed that Lundy was also wrong but he was genuine and records later proved it. He was a member of a home guard unit and never saw combat, at least I think that is right.
I think they showed a picture of him in his casket in the newspaper. He was in uniform and had a white beard.
