Pa.'s new physician general brings an LGBT point of view
Philadelphia Inquirer ^ | January 25, 2015 | Melissa Dribben

Rachel Levine stood tall in the doorway, offered a polite handshake, and took a seat at the L-shaped desk in her drab, blank slate of an office.

[Snip]

Levine, who has just been named Pennsylvania's physician general, spent most of her 57 years - at least outwardly - as a man. If the state Senate confirms her appointment, the doctor, who until a few years ago was known as Richard Levine, will become one of the nation's very few, openly transgender people in public office.

[Snip]

She was dressed conservatively in a tailored gray jacket and matching skirt, accented by rings, bracelets, and an amber necklace.

Before accepting the job, she said, she had to carefully consider how she would balance her public exposure with her wish for privacy. She is willing to discuss her transsexuality in the interest of shedding light on a much-misunderstood community. But she is fiercely protective of her family and friends and puts strict limits on the questions she is willing to answer.

If the state Senate confirms herIT appointment ...

There is a substainial republican majority in the state Senate. If they vote to confirm, I am completely done with the Republican party. I wrote my state Senator on this issue over a week ago.

If Republicans don't think someone that identifies as a transgender isn't batshit crazy and not qualified to make policy on public health, then there is a signficant problem. I don't give a crap about academic creditials, experience, or touchy-feely mumbo jumbo BS of 'what a kind person' this abomination is.

In a sane world....at the very least a mental institution.

How does one live with themselves by doing this?

Transgenderism is a mental illness, where the mind doesn’t match the body.
The therapy should be to rectify mind with body, not mutilate the body to match the mind.

And if I stand in the garage long enough I’ll become a car?

Oh, I know....I’ll wear headlights on my nose, backup lights on my @zz, & add some liberal bumper stickers.

Still won’t work? What an unfair world we live in.

This is one el muy sicko story.....

Quote from the article (emphasis added): Before accepting the job, she said, she had to carefully consider how she would balance her public exposure with her wish for privacy.

Actions like HIS dressing as a woman SCREAMS 'It's ALL ABOUT ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME!' 'LOOK AT ME! ME! ME! ME! ME!' PLEASE Pay attention to ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME!'

Sure, I believe that HE has concerns about HIS 'privacy'! Yep, I also believe that the bridge to Brooklyn that is for sale over the internet, is a good deal. Sure, I believe!

Was HE sexually abused as a child? What a sad, pathetic MAN.

Tom Wolf just could not wait to extend a big “F— You!” to the majority of Pennsylvanians who are socially rather conservative.

There is no sense in me commenting, you said it all and better than I can. Funny, I didn’t read anything about this appointment in my local rag (The Reading Eagle).

Well of course they are, you can put fingernail polish on a guy but he’s still a guy. I can tolerate his hands, having a little trouble with the thing above the shoulders.

She/he is ill, self loathing and self mutilation are a mental illness and a mentally ill person should not be the Physician General of a state. So what does this tell us about the politician who appointed him/her? What will it tell about the politicians who vote to co0nfirm?
