A peaceful prayer walk descended into shoving and shouting Sunday afternoon, as the weekend shooting deaths of three young people aroused anger, fear and suspicion among some of the participants.

The trouble began, witnesses said, when a man said to be the father of victim Jakela Foster’s 1-year-old child began arguing with someone who he believed knew what happened early Saturday when Foster was killed.

Community leaders at the prayer walk echoed Police Chief Todd Schmaderer in urging anyone with knowledge of the shootings to come forward and talk to police.

Sad? Sure. But this is the kind of sh!t I would expect to see in Rwanda.

When you have a triple murder like this and nobody is cooperating with police, I think it's safe to say that the people involved have no place in a civilized society. The best approach is to remove all traces of law enforcement and just put a wall up around the place.

You mean the same government that can't even build a fence across the Mexican Border ?

“Community leaders at the prayer walk echoed Police Chief Todd Schmaderer...”

-what/who on earth is a “community leader”? Leading what? Great job, “Leaders”! And that’s some bang-up “community”.

That’s a business I hadn’t thought of. Should be a market around here, as well.

When you don’t want to cooperate with or participate in the justice system, all kinds of awful and unjust things just sit there, and everyone knows it.

One of the articles I read yesterday about this shooting said that the hospital Emergency Room also turned into a bit of a brawl after the incident.

I read that too. Article said they had to close the entry to the ER. Pathetic. They couldn’t even call a truce long enough for their friends or family to be helped.

From your linked article:

“One way of coping with the grief process, especially with younger people, is getting the T-shirts.”

Re: Tax-Refund Season: “When the money comes back they shoot each other, they kill each other,”

“...the Mobile area, which he said is far more dangerous than Florida or his native home in the West Bank, Palestine.”

“During court proceedings, it’s not unheard of for family members representing both the victim and the defendant to be wearing color-coded shirts from their respective sides of the aisle.”

Because: Black Culture.

When youngsters are armed to the teeth and killing each other because they’re wearing the ‘wrong’ color, all the “community leaders” in the world will do nothing to improve the situation.

It starts with Mom (and Dad, who’s usually missing). Then it moves to Church, then to decent schools that actually educate. After that comes initiative and hard work, striving to overcome any setbacks that might occur on the road to a successful and happy life. Throw accountability and consequences into the mix too.

Most or all of these things are non-existent in these communities. It’s a crying shame.

It's pathetic that the police can't get any cooperation in a case like this where the victims and the perps were black, but if the perps were white (especially white police officers) there would be witnesses crawling out of holes all over the place and even lying about the facts of the case.

Personally, I think I'll file this one in the "My give a sh!t is broken" category.
