John Boehner Attacks Tea Party: Leaders Oppose Me to Get Rich(the war is officially on now)

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is blaming conservative groups in Washington for turning him into a human pinata to raise money.

In an interview to air on Sunday’s “60 Minutes” on CBS, Boehner said he doesn’t disagree that much with conservatives on policy, but that the groups beat “the dickens out of me” in order to line their own pockets.

“The issue with the Tea Party isn’t one of strategy. It’s not one of different vision,” Boehner said, according to excerpts released by CBS.

“It’s a disagreement over tactics, from time to time. Frankly, a lot is being driven by national groups here in Washington who have raised money and just beating the dickens out of me,” Boehner said in the joint interview with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

“It works. They raise money, put it in their pocket, and pay themselves big salaries,” Boehner added.

I tend to be skeptical about self-serving analysis.

Not by his peers, but by the funding sources he is
allowed to control and by his control of committee assignments. Without those Boehner would be nothing.

You can’t blame all of Ohio - only his district. Please be specific when handing out the shame - he doesn’t live in my district - and if he did, I wouldn’t vote for him anyway.

There is some truth to what Boner is saying.

The head of the Tea Party Patriots, Jenny Beth Martin, makes more than $400k/year.

When I learned that little factoid, I stopped contributing to them. Anything that comes in the mail from them just gets shredded now.

Let’s assume Boehner’s position that the TP is pocketing money.

Any amount that is being pocketed is NOTHING compared to the billions sloshing around the DC establishment.

Now, let’s assume Boehner is just drunk.

In vino veritas.

This is what he truly believes because he is on the take like everyone else in DC.

Why is Boehner doing this? Because of the Koch’s TEA invitees yesterday in CA and Steve King’s TEA invitees to Iowa today? To quash TEAmentum?

To prevent LIVers from looking into the TEA party? Because Sarah said she may run?

This is actually WORSE than if he’d been involved in the IRS attacking TEA groups. He’s taking it straight to the base we need to start peeling off by saying this on ABC.

How many of us need to temporarily move to Ohio to primary this @sshole?

This is true about conservative organizations in the past. They were more interested in money than in pursuing an agenda of reform.

So Boehner just admitted to why and what he is doing.
Replace “tea party” with “I am” and it becomes very clear.

“1 - They’re making money because your lack of leadership and caving to the left really make us mad.

2 - Too many of the “Tea Party” groups ARE enriching themselves and NOT using the money to elect conservatives. One of them had only spent $1.5M toward the 2014 election and had $10M still in the bank.”

I believe you’re right on both counts. Early on I thought there were problems in that the Tea Party had too many self appointed leaders within the many groups and a lack of structure. I believe that has kept many of the Conservative groups from unifying. I do believe that the Tea Party of Mississippi has done somewhat better ay unifying the groups but still suffer here in Desoto County because of the disaster that was our first Tea Party. There is now a growing coalition of county Conservative organizations that are connected that have elected officers regular meetings and are structured. This appears to be growing because of the actions of the gop-e and cochran campaign in our Senatorial primary.

John Boehner — a legend in his own mind. Sit down and shut-up, John. How is it, John, that the only time you display any courage and fight is against members of your own party? All the while you curry favor with our mortal enemy, the Democrat Party? You can’t help it, it’s just that your inner RINO is coming to the surface. That’s why you are despicable trash.

They raise money, put it in their pocket, and pay themselves big salaries,” Boehner added.

That's something he knows nothing about.

While I despise the Crying Cheeto, he’s not wrong here. Tea party groups ARE using him as a fundraiser, and some Tea Party heads ARE paying themselves exorbitantly.

“While I despise the Crying Cheeto, he’s not wrong here. Tea party groups ARE using him as a fundraiser, and some Tea Party heads ARE paying themselves exorbitantly.”

There are always black spots in any group.

The point is Boehner is trying to make people believe the ONLY reason for the Tea Party is to fund raise. This is despicable as virtually ALL people who support the Tea Party are for its principles, not money.

Boehner is unabashedly using the Saul Alinsky tactic of repeating a lie.
